Self perception

We Never Know

No Slack
I think many took your question to the extreme. But, I think that the real answer is: to some degree. We are a social animal and to ignore others perspectives in favor of the rigidity of our own beliefs can have a deleterious impact (both on ourselves and others).

understanding other’s perspectives, analysis and reflection are paramount to our own learning and growth.

It getting to Bob has to give to please Bill...

Short example...

Bob likes and owns guns.
Bill thinks Bob needs to get rid of his guns and all guns should be banned

Bob doesn't like the ideal of female transgenders being in women's sports
Bill thinks it's ok and Bob should accept it.

Bob has to change his life and thinking to align with Bills so Bill will be happy.

What about Bob?

By the way, Bob is black.
