sex and religion

Might have to check but I don't believe Adam and Eve were legally married.
And they didn't have pornography, so masturbation was kind of hit and miss. But mutual mastu . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :glomp:. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .:rolleyes::)

it seem like I will never get married so is it ok to have sex outside of a marriage? and is pornography and masturbation sending me straight to hell???

I believe the Bible instructs you to 'go forth and multiply'? no?

Do you really think an intelligent creator would hang a pecker on a guy and say 'Don't use it before you get married?' Surely he'd just make it pop out on your wedding day.

I thought you couldn't even look at a girl wrong!!!and if you had sex with too many people you were a fornicator!!!and I thought cheating was adultery...so you telling me everything socially acceptable such as having side chicks is ok?

Religion has lots of funny ideas about sex. Ignore them.

Sex before marriage is important. It allows to find out, in private areas of the mind and body, what our potential long-term partner is like. Whether we're sexually compatible with them. And sexual compatibility is important between two people. You wouldn't want to, for example, marry a woman and then find out that she barks like a dog during sex.

Having chicks on the side depends on various factors. Maybe you're in an open-relationship and your partner also has dudes on the side. Some women - in the reverse of being a cuckold - enjoy being a cuqueane and will take great pleasure from watching their man with another woman. The key factor is: consent. It's never okay to illicitly have a chick on the side. Two adults may consent to do whatever they like within the boundary of the law.

Looking at girls is fine. You may see a nice pair of breasts, or a nice *** from time to time and think: 'Nice ***'. And you might worry that this makes you a bit of a sleaze as a result. But it's normal to have such thoughts about what we feel is a nice ***. The difference between being normal and being a sleaze is keeping that information to yourself.

More interesting questions.

I don't actually think the Bible says anything about "single" men having sex with single women.

It condemns sex with married women, and Sacred Prostitutes.

There is actually no banning of masturbation in the Bible.

The verse they always quote as such - actually just says his sin was spelling seed on the ground because he knew the child would not be his.

Gen 38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

Gen 38:9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

A side note - there is no marry in 38:8. The word means to perform your duty for a dead brother (produce an heir to inherit for him.)

It would definitely have been a sin if he had sex with his brother's wife - to produce an heir for his dead brother,- but then spilled the semen on the ground instead, - so there would be no heir.

That would then actually be rape.

Masturbation actually has health benefits.

What you do and whom you may have in your bedroom is your business as long as no one is being harmed. Adultery is obviously a problem because it can and so often does cause harm. Scripturally, fornication is not viewed as being like adultery as long as the participants are not coerced and are mature and responsible enough to know what they are doing.

Why don't you decide for yourself whether those things are okay instead of having someone tell you what you should think or do? Be an adult.

Namaste,

Sex is a natural thing, it is a natural urge of the body, it is beautiful when it stays naturally with the body, we should not deny this, but once it gets stuck in your mind it becomes a hindrance, overwhelming our thoughts and causing depression and anxiety for many. Keep sex beautiful and natural, otherwise we make too much issue out of it, once it is a issue it needs to be looked at and studied, then someone has to know what the proper way of sex is, then they make models, then sex becomes "Normal" or "Not Normal", instead of Natural. Once we have a model all that don't fit the model are outcasts or abnormal and need to be fixed by any means possible.

My religion recognises common law marriage whereas my state government doesn't. God recognises when two people are publicly faithful to each other. Yes pornography and masterbation are sins, so enter into a relationship with or without marriage.

Why would masturbation be a sin? It is actually good for you.

It isn't a sin for females to masterbate, just for males. But it isn't punishable unless the man turns a woman down for marriage so he can masterbate or if he refuses to get his wife pregnant by instead masterbating. This can only be punished by God Himself like when He struck Onan dead.

That would then actually be disobeying a LAW from YHVH, and rape, as he had sex with his brother's wife under false pretenses.

These verses are not about masturbation.

You are assuming a lot. I am not basing my conclusion on the Bible and I am not a Christian. So whatever they argue, has nothing to do with my argument. It is a rabbinical injunction and it is found in the Talmud. By the way, marrying your dead brother's wife was called Levirate marriage. These marriages were not sinful, they were commanded. Onan refused to have a child for his brother. That was a sin.

Well that's very interesting - however - I looked it up in the Hebrew.

Torah is supposedly from YHVH. Talmud & Mishna are human commentary.

Look at the way it is written -

Gen 38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

Gen 38:9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

It very specifically means he went in to her for sex.

If we accept the LATER HUMAN Talmud commentary, - we would have to assume Onan was an idiot exhibitionist.

We would have to believe he WENT IN UNTO her and jer*ed-off in front of her, - knowing he would get in trouble for such an act.

Is that logical??? NO!

But it is a logical conclusion when reading the story - that HE WENT IN ONTO HER - had sex ,- but withdrew before ejaculation, so as to provide no heir for his brother. An heir would have taken inheritance money out of his pocket.

Read it in the Hebrew.

And - yâbam - does not mean marry. It means to perform the duty of a dead husband’s brother

Also look at the end of the story.

She has sex with Judah to get this duty performed, - he acknowledges he had sex with her, - but knows her no more, - and she is NOT one of his wives.

Gen 38:26 And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.

I get tired of later groups trying to make what the Bible actually says, - more socially acceptable, - by adding meanings the word actually does not have.

It was not obligatory on Tamar to have a child. Nor for Judah. He was the father-in-law. Levirate marriage was obligatory on only a brother-in-law. No matter how you interpret the story, the Talmud makes it clear that it is a sin for a male to spill semen except to have children, to fulfill conjugal duty to please a wife, or if it is medically necessary. You may believe the Talmud is man made, but many people live by it. I believe the New Testament is man made. I admit that nowhere in the Torah does Moses ever condemn the spilling of semen. So if we don't look in the Talmud, this discussion is going nowhere.

You do not have to get married. Hell is the common grave of mankind. When we die we go into the grave. Can you have sex outside of marriage? Will God do anything about it? No. But there is a danger in having sex outside of marriage. There is HIV, and all that stuff. A woman might have a baby, and you will have to pay each month as it grows up. The big danger is: You will learn to like the variety of sex with different women. When you marry, liking variety does not go away.
There is a lot of sel harm that can come out of having sex outside of marriage. As to porn, science says it has proven it does something to the brain?

according to who?

if god didn't want us to masturbate he should have made us with the arms like a t-rex

You have a self-satisfying why of reasoning? On that line of thinking, God should not have given man a thumb…after all he could stick it where the sun don’t shine and suck on what he pulls out? That line of reasoning would put the blame on every thing we do on God.
