By today's standards(or then), would this music video be considered sexist?

Post some music video's you consider sexist.

Now keep in mind these women chose (consented) to participate, were paid and probably thought hell yeah I'm going to get to dance and perform in a music video.

Definitely not seeing it as sexist.

This thread reminds me of the movie Spinal Tap, where their album cover got nixed by the company for being sexist. Then Nigel asks "Well, what's wrong with being sexy?"

You want a sexist album cover? Look for an original Scorpions vinyl "Virgin Killer"

Re-imagined as the original isn't available on the web.

Off topic, but seriously, where does Meine's accent go when he sings?
Amd why is we can clearly understand Ozzy when he sings but hardly understand anything at all when he's just talking?

Agreement to participate has nothing to do with whether or not something is "sexist".

In this instance I am assuming that by "sexist" you mean presenting human beings as nothing more that objects of someone else's sexual desires. An expression that is commonplace on both people's minds and in cultural media.

I don't think there's anything particularly "bad" about it except when it's being promoted for it's own sake. (As it often is). As opposed to it's being a supporting aspect of some larger message or expression.

Speaking of Spinal Tap and Bob Seger, he did an interview on Bob and Tom once and he said that movie has a lot truth to it. The examples I remembered he pointed out is getting lost in a venue and forgetting what city your playing in.

Very strong language
Here's a confession. I used to like ZZ Top. Thought I'd check out some of their old videos (eg Legs, Sharp Dressed Man). Dear lord, I don't know if they're sexist but they're certainly cringey.

I scrolled through it without sound.
Why did you choose this video to ask the question?
Do you think it's sexist? If so, why?

Did I miss something by watching it without sound, or is it really just these women dancing?

It was what I was watching at the time.
No I don't think its sexist.

Why did you go through it without sound? Don't you like music?

Because I don't have headphones at the moment and would have bothered people around me.

And I'm a passionate drummer. Music is extremely important in my life. Especially playing it. It's my number 1 method of escaping the stress of societal life.
