Shadow People

Nice!
The symptoms by infestation are
weakness and fatigue, diminished appetite, or other digestion problems, dizziness or fainting, and sometimes even loss of consciousness.
Psychological symptoms may include nightmares or other sleep disturbances, anxiety,
a sense of being in danger, hallucinations, and confusion.
At some stages there can be feelings of despondency or depression.

Careful with that. Many paranormal investigators report dealing with a lot of negative impacts because of that.
You are correct that my attitude is too uncautious here. I would war with Lucifer himself to have ammunition for my next debate with some snarky skeptic <not serious> .

I have had one first hand experience with a backlash of an entity and not getting rid of it. I wasn't "possessed" but it was more like a parasite. I had horrible thoughts every day and every night I had nightmares of torture. It pushed me to the edge several times and then one day it lifted. It was an amazing feeling that was nothing like I had ever felt before as I could feel it the moment it was removed.

Very interesting Rain. Why do you think it was a 'backlash of an entity' as opposed to a 'psychological issue' explanation that a mainstream psychologist would put forth.

I remember once when I was a kid I was standing washing my hands when I took a look into my room. My room had two beds and I was so sure that I saw someone standing between the two beds. I quickly rushed to the living room telling my mother I saw someone in the room. She went to check and told me there was no one and I was just imagining. I was sure of what I saw, but than I kinda convinced my self that I was imagining.

I haven't really had major problems with depression in the way that I had. I have a basic understanding of psychology and it didn't match up to psychological explanations. Nothing "triggered" it. I didn't have any major events happen. And when it left me it was sudden and never came back. This also isn't something that is typical of psychological events.

Perhaps it was but I have my doubts. The energy did not feel like my own.

While I am sitting here reading an MLA manual I believe I should switch over to APA. Very appropriate.

That's the second time today I've laughed as hard as I just did. Thank you.

But I do believe in such things, I just don't care about them or ever go searching for it. Two weeks ago I was on my computer at my Bfs house, then all of a sudden Xbox pulls up a scene from some random alien movie where the alien is literally cutting into some guys face and showing everything from bones to nerves to eye balls rolling out. Im just like.. Ok dude like what the Fook son. I hate gore so>.>

I was home alone.
Tv was on and we do have xbox talky thingy. Yet, how it picked up my voice to go on this random movie that wasn't pre selected, to this very scene, to show me something I hate the most? Idk. His house has lots of negative energy sometimes. I can feel it and it plays with my thoughts. I tell myself, ok, don't give it attention and ignore it and it'll go away.

The fact that something may really be there doesn't bother me, but I just wana tell it to go fook with someone else like.. Grow up. U wana watch me laugh? Play with myself? Eat? Etc? Awesome, but go freak someone else out, mmkay thanks.

So are shadow people supposed to be limited to the walls and such or are they three dimensional shadows

The shadow people that I am familair with are called that way because they are dark. They are a void or shadow like figure but they exist like any other entity would. They have "shadow movements" that are a different phenomenon where there are shadows on the ground or walls that don't seem to come from any particular source

Get me off of this planet
I was never extremely fascinated with the paranormal, I try to see things in the realm of possibility but an a rational person. I explained my experience one early morning in my ride through Arkansas. I parked my bike and went for a walk to stretch my legs, it was about a quarter mile to and fro - to a gas station to get a biscuit for breakfast. I stopped under the overpass, about a half way point - and those spook out of the woods. There was a cacophony of voices which were inaudible for the most part, but they felt extremely threatening, and as I mentioned I felt in extreme danger. I couldn't muster anything but, "Go in peace." - and they turned away after a moment and walked back into the tree line..

But anyway, I get my **** together and continue walking back to my bike on the return trip. I forgot to mention not even 5 minutes later the town SHERIFF stops and picks me up. He tells me get in, it's dangerous out here.. This was 3 years ago, I just recollected the sheriff bit, haven't mustered the gumption to post.

No BS. It sounds incredible and it was, I just dismiss things- dealing with delusions a while now.

Good spook story though!

I think I've had an experience of a shadow figure before. It has happened at least once, maybe two or three times; I don't remember.

For me it was pretty simple: I just woke up in the middle of the night and saw a shadow figure standing over my body. I think it happened in an in-between state, not really awake, not really asleep, so there might be a different explanation for it. Rather than being another entity, I've heard that such things could be another of my own bodies, assuming an out of body experience prior to waking up.

I remember my aunts telling a story of seeing a shadow figure in an old house they lived in once. They and my mom have told stories of that old house being very creepy and likely haunted. One night, one of my aunts just got done taking a shower and walked into the hallway and saw a shadow walking up the stairs.

Part of me wishes I could experience some of these things, but another part feels it's better off without any scares :D

Actually though, my dad regularly sees spirits, pretty much on a day-to-day basis, and I think he's described them as often being shadowy like figures. I don't think this is an indicator that they are malignant or "dark" like we think, but that a "shadowy" figure is often all that is visible. I think it's probably neutral and not indicative of the state of the spirit.

Hermaeus Mora knows
I saw one in the doorway to the kitchen a few years back. Nothing happened because of it though and I was not scared of it at the time I saw it. I saw the one called The Hat Man in a dream though. That one scared me and gave me a feeling of dread.

The only shadow entity I've seen dead-on thus far (at least, that
wasn't fleeting) was in my great-aunts' cabin up
in the Catskills back when I was probably around 11 years old.

One night I awoke to see what looked like a black 'blob'
hovering over the head of my bed. To check myself as to
whether it was just my imagination, I looked away from
it and then back at it; it remained in its fixed position. So
that told me it wasn't a projection of my mind but rather
an object independent of it.

I just lay there staring up at it; I thought I saw images
swirling around inside it, but that part could very well
have been my imagination given that the room was dim
(the only light was that coming from out in the hall). I
got up to use the bathroom (I don't recall being afraid)
and when I returned, it was gone.

And it just occurred to me: Maybe having images
swirling inside it suggests it wasn't an entity per
se but maybe a portal of some kind that opened
up momentarily... Hmmm....
