Britain is not forcing democracy on anybody it has helped to give the opportunity of democracy to the Iraqi people when we leave its up to them what they do with it.

i fail to see any similarities at all the fact you do puzzles me. there couldn't be a more different scenario of a movement to set up a totalitarian type form of justice in a democracy, than instituting a democracy in a former totalitarian regime

If being a foreign legal system is a sufficient reason to dismiss sharia law then we should restore all power to the monarch and throw away democracy because we imported that system from the French. Actually we got the monarchy from the Romans so lets get rid of that as well and go back to individual hill forts: our true heritage.

However, I do feel that we should accommodate the legal systems of minorities to a degree. That is as a white male living in the UK, my home country, I want a certain degree of variation in our legal system for minorities.

Why though? Why should minorities get a separate legal system? Why shouldn't everybody be bound to the same law? Here, how about we allow people to import their local laws wherever they go. BNP members have the right to say what they want just as you have the right to rebuff what they say.
