Shooting in Denmark

This just happened a few hours ago where I live.

Guess the US is not the only place where people go nuts with guns :(

Fortunately the police arrested him fairly quickly, but some were killed. Its a massive shopping mall with cinemas etc. can only imagine if this person have had the same type of weapons as they can get hold of in the US, then a lot more would have been killed.

i wish all the surviving victims a speedy recovery, and swift justice for the families who lost loved ones to such a senseless act of violence,

More proof gun control doesn't work.

Yeah, thought it was terror at first, but not anymore. Its apparently a 22 year old and my guess is that he is mentally unstable or something. But the police haven't said anything about it yet.

Well what do you think would have happened had he gone there with a full automatic rifle?
I don't know. How long did it take for the cops to arrive? What would have happened if armed security had stopped him first or if someone with concealed carry had stopped him?

All questions are fair in hypotheticals.

Can only imagine how it would go in a shopping mall with everyone starting to draw guns and shoot at each other and no one knowing who the real gun man is.

Let alone when the police arrive and everyone is running around with guns, doesn't really seem like a good solution to be honest.

One event is not proof of a rampant problem.

Multiple school shootings seems to point that way though.
Agree the last shooting we had of a somewhat similar kind was in 2015 which were terror motivated. Back then 2 got killed.

Its the price of war and nations. Guns act as a deterrent against invasion, however I think its reasonable not to allow fully automatic and semi automatic weapons inside of shopping malls. The Danes will figure something out. They always do.

I don't think this will change anything to be honest. I think the Danes are very much happy with our gun control laws. It obviously depends on how he got hold of it. But as far as I know, I don't think anyone is going to complain in regards to our laws about weapons due to this.

The police got the alarm call at 17.37 and the guy was arrested 17.48, so 11 minutes.

3 are confirmed dead.
That, if correct is a very good response time actually. Yet wasn't fast enough to save 3 people. That's my point.

I wonder if Denmark is turning into a totalitarian state?
