I see the point about hugging and all the problems it can cause. I just don't think that I could support an outright ban. Perhaps we should have several studies done on the matter first.
Then, we could appoint a committee, just to follow protocol. Every issue needs a committee.
Then, of course, we would need some PSA's so that those who are unaware of the dangers of hugging become duly afraid and demand action. We'd probably call it Nonhuggers Against Hugging, or NAH!
But, instead of outright banning hugging, we decide to regulate and tax it. Our committee could draft the legislation.
Then, only really smart people that know the proper time and place for hugging can manage it for the rest of us just to make sure that no unauthorized hugging happens.
We could have an entire department to interpret the law, then make and implement policies.
Hey, it would create revenue. It would create jobs. Who says the US doesn't manufacture things anymore?
