Should I cut my hair?

Title says it all, I am debating whether or not I should cut my hair and it is bugging me at the moment. I have always had long hair my entire life and I have cut it 3 times and every time I regretted it. My hair was at its most down the length of my back so I had a good 0.7 meters of hair at one point which is 2+ feet for those who are Metric System illiterate.

I have just had this bizarre inclination to cut my hair again and every time I ask for an opinion it is always from somebody who has known me with very long hair and of course they will prefer my long hair.

I've have that inclination as well time to time. I generally end up cutting to shoulder length and then let it grow back out; as I usually have it down to the middle of my back and braided.

Yup exactly my fear. My hair is just reaching shoulder's length at the moment and should be hitting my shoulders by the end of this year. My hair is a bit curly so it obviously never looks as long as it really is.

Well it is your choice it you want to. If you feel that you will regret it then don't do it.

Yup exactly my fear. My hair is just reaching shoulder's length at the moment and should be hitting my shoulders by the end of this year. My hair is a bit curly so it obviously never looks as long as it really is.

Keep it like that.

My hair used to be three times the length of your hair (going by the curls) but I had brain surgery. My mother and I cried the whole time cutting it and ever since, I've been chopping it off. It's about a couple inches and naturally curly. Now I look tomboyish.

But if you regret it before, I'd probably wouldn't do it. It looks fine now if you keep it up probably once or twice every two or three months with leave-in shampoo or gel, or etc. If you do grow it out, keep it at shoulder length and keep the curls.

That's my take.

My wife had long hair for decades. When she was getting ready to have chemo and lose her hair she had it cut and donated it to "Locks of Love" who turn donated hair into wigs for kids. If you do get it cut, I'd look into that.

Keep it, but regularly trim the ends.
I didn't trim the ends of my long hair and it started to thin out in my late 20s
Now days I am either taken for a skin head or a Buddhist priest....serves me right for not trimming the ends

If you cut it you will regret it.
If you don't cut it you will be occupied with wanting to cut it.
So cut slightly shorter..
And the whole story will repeat itself..
Because you will want to cut it even more..
But you will be fine

I actually have, I got it down to a military buzzcut. Less than half an inch in length on top

. . . I hated it
