People tend to treat the seekers with kid gloves. They tend to want to let you choose your own way.

All topics should fall under their cateogories. For example your Judas one I would have put under religious debates.
As to changing you name probably not necessary. Try responding to a few threads first. Get yourself seen and your debating technique established.

Don't worry about it. It's hard to guess what threads will attract people's attention. Most of the ones I start that I think are great get no notice at all. It's just the way things go sometimes
I think your name is fine, but if you really do want to change it, start a thread in Site Feedback making your request. That way, whichever of the Admins happens to be on will see it and can respond quickly.
Any of the Admins can do a name change for you. The only requirements are that the name can't already be taken, and it can't violate any forum rules... no profanity, for instance. And we've already got a "Gnostic".
