I think freedom of Muslim dress should be allowed in public universities. Who's right is it infringing? I thought France to be this bastion of liberal tolerance.
To be fair, we are constantly hearing about the need to respect cultural differences. Here is an example of a secular culture that has made a decision that runs counter to decisions made by other, non-secular cultures.
I think it is fair to criticize the decision as illiberal, but then how can those who would reject the ability of outsiders to critique traditionalist cultures from a liberal perspective reasonably claim an ability to judge France's decision?
