I see home schooling out here in Texas a lot. The state mandates what has to be taught and there is an internet guide line. Seems pretty reasonable. I think they should be required to take 1-3 college courses on child education in addition to the internet to reinforce the transition of material from internet-parent-child.
Other than that, at least down here it seems pretty comprehensive. There are some areas of Texas so small that it may be impractical for kids to go to a school due to distance and lack of transportation by the county they are in and the parents not having transportation.
Does anybody have stats on home school kids education level? Be interesting to see how they compare when you get an "apples to apples" comparison.
