Yes and No. Muslim terrorists go to great lengths to hide their communications. The right-wing terrorists were OK sharing their intentions on a public forum.

If people had paid attention to Parlar posts, the invasion of the Capitol could have been prevented. Since Parlar was run off of Amazon's servers, the identity of every poster could have become know to DHS and FBI.

Now, those same people will find a way to go underground.

It seems a big warning was given the day before, so it might have been well planned

Uh no. All of that is archived on Amazon. It is fully available to the DHS and FBI. There is no where for those posters to run and hide. But I agree, this will push the new stuff underground.

But losing a platform like Parler, is a massive blow to their insurrectionist movement of seditionists. Like blowing out enemy combatant broadcast towers. Carrier pigeon networks just aren't as effective as radio towers, in other words.

That might not be all so easy:

In this case, I am fine with the same exact standard being applied to everyone, regardless of which side they are on. Yell 'fire' in a crowded theater, lose your platform. Plot sedition and insurrection, lose your platform.

But I am concerned that this might have been done too ad hoc. In which case, there is no rule or principle governing everyone, and that's not a good thing at all. The scope of the term 'fair' does NOT extend to 'Trump Rules' whereby one person or group is immune to playing by the rules the rest of us must play by. I want the same justification for taking down Parler to apply to taking down any site or service.

This post doesn't even come close the DIRECT threats made on Parler that I posted. Did you read the article even?
Yes... and there are many direct threats that can be found on multiple outlets... But we don't close down the outlets... we close down those who make threats... that is a BIG difference.
