Should there be a one world currency?

It would solve a lot of problems when travelling and would promote better trade.

That is true.

But in europe we can't all agree on the euro.
To settle on one currency needs a lot more trust in each other than we have now.
But perhaps one day?

By the time a one world currency would roll into effect, all current currencies would be convertable as convientnely.

One currency is a bad idea.

I support one currency as much as I do one language. The sooner we lose artificial barriers such as these the better.

One currency sounds to close to a precursor to one government to me.

Word Government as an Ideal makes a lot of sense.
But people are to selfish to allow it.
Peoples always think of their freedoms before their obligations.
Even if the rest of the world joined, I can't see the USA coming in.

Have you seen how much it costs to transfer money. In the UK banks have a minimum charge of about £20 on top of the exchange rate cost, to pay for an item by transfer to say Germany or the USA.
Any one in the Euro area can do it for free.

The only people to make money from seperate currencies are the Banks. The rest of us Just Pay.

Heavens, No! I think monay should be unique to each country, (I dislike the concept of the Euro greatly) because the stability, worth, etc of a money must be dertimined in a country's economy. Like any other good, I think money is something to be traded and sold. It also needs to accurately reflect each country.

As an Englishman (adopted) I think we should return to the system of pre-decimalisation, when 12 pennies was one shilling, twenty shillings was one pound, 21 shillings was one guinea.

I t must be blatantly obvious to every one how complex and so ridiculously illogical all other countries are, by assuming a stance of insisting that 100 cents is equal to one Dollar - Ridiculous, and absurd!!:biglaugh:

I think USA would be the first to promote it.....oh wait.....USA government officials already promote a new world order, a one world government.
I am personally against it. A nations money often reflects its culture, and who is important to that nation. But I would have put George Washington one the 100 dollar bill. I think hes worth more than 1 dollar. And I would have replaced Ben Franklin with Thomas Eddison.

You try paying an individual with a card Can't be done. Within a country you can do a bank transfer on the web for free but not to another country.
That's why a lot of people use paypal but you both need an account.

according to the Bible, in the end days of the tribulation there will be a one world government, economy (currency), and religion. People won't be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead. Now that is possible!!! With computer chips, retnal scans, etc. it is starting to happen. Dogs in the U.S. have a chip in them so if they are lost, they scan them and call the owner. People with medical conditions have them too, so they can be located quickly, they even show their vital signs. Grocery stores are experimenting with finger print scans. Clinton wanted a national health care card. Now with computer chips, you can have an ID card that, not only shows your identity, but allows you to bank, buy things, go to the doctor, and in some states, the police can scan it and see if you have any pending criminal charges against you. With identity theft a big problem, it would make sense to take it from a card and put it in your hand or forehead, for a fingerprint scan, retinal scan, and so noboldy could steal your card. Its coming soon to a theatre near you!
