Should there be a one world currency?

Having one world currency would be horrible our economy. I would love to do more research on this, but I hated the four economics classes I took in school as it is. The thought of trying to figure out the impact of one currency on trade, interest rates, etc. gives me a headache.

I am not sure the USA could ever join, the national debt is too large.
If the world lost faith in the dollar The country would be the equivalent of bankrupt.

Rather like religions Currencies depend on FAITH

The two strongest currencies will soon be that of India and China.

I am strongly against finger, hand, retinal, and any other scans simple because they don't stay the same. If your lap top is protected by a finger print reader, and you get cut, you better hope the cut isn't deep and doesn't leave a scar. The same with retinal scans. The eyeball can actually change its shape. Glasses, contacts, and tv/computer screens, and reading can do this with prolonged usage.

Ive had to use a fingerprint scanner for over 2 years now. There are no problems with cuts and dirt, thats an old wives tale. You can even fill your finger with wax or anything to fill it up, it still can be read. Its when you shave or burn them when they cant be read, but theres allways a backup set of prints you can program in. I find it better than losing a key or losing the paper that has your password on it.

Thats interesting. I know a local YMCA had a palm-print reader, and it was thrown away a few weeks after it was installed because it caused to many problems, mainly with correctly reading hands that had slightly changed due to cuts, burns, wieght loss/gain in the hand, or any other thing that can change the pattern. Maybe its older versions that have that problem.

One world currency....hmmm....while we're at it, how about we try one government, one language, or one religion for the entire world. They are nice ideals that would solve a bunch of problems, but I submit that differences among peoples make them unrealistic any time soon. Like Terry mentioned, just look at the difficulties getting all of Europe on the Euro. If I were a betting man, I'd bet not in our lifetimes, but if I won that bet, I wouldn't be able to collect my dollars:D

Perhaps something catastrophic happening might bring the world into that one world government, like, say, The Rapture...
