Nope, if you can afford to purchase a fighter and one is available on the market you can do so as long as the weapons are removed. I'm sure if you went to Russia they would be willing to sell you one of theirs. Which they have. I have seen a couple of MIG's at airshows. Of course they were of the 1960's vintage. Mig-17's and the US was represented by the F86A. The cost of keeping these birds flying is horrendous.Was there a background check? Is there a waiting period?
