Differently to which direction?

Generally speaking, I'd say yes. Not to belittle women, but because I care for them more than I care for men. Yes, it is a subjective thinking exclusive to me. For some reason, if I know my sister was hurt, I would seriously panic. But if it was my brother, the impact on me would be less in comparison. Dunno why, I just feel that way.

I believe people should be treated equally for equal crimes in an equal context. Meaning, the crime matters, the intention matters, the events leading up to it matters, the assessment of their continued danger to society matters, but I don't think gender itself should be particularly relevant.

Men and women have some different health needs and stuff so prison should take that into account, but besides that, I'd say it should be equal.

A lot of prisoners are victims one way or another anyway. Many of them are mentally ill. Many of them come from poverty. There are cycles of endless poverty and crime. I believe some laws should change to reduce the prison population in some countries (war on drugs in the US for example, or the imbalance of punishment from robbing a convenience store for $20 of stuff vs embezzling thousands or millions of dollars), and then for the remaining prison population should be treated more humanely in general with more emphasis on rehabilitation when possible.
