Shouldn't Nudity be Encouraged?

Nudity should only be allowed for good looking folks.

Most of us should wear clothes, and the ones who should be naked - are.

Well, I guess...I just find it hard for everyone to be reading Shakespeare, while you have a friend of yours naked sitting across from you. I mean, I am sure we could adapt, but I doubt we would be fine with it for some generations, eventually we would probably be alright with it, I mean, cows are naked, why not us?

I'd be fine with it, I mean, if your skinny, your skinny, if your fat, your fat. Only thing you can do is work to be what you wana be. If you wana be 1000 lbs, then good luck to you, just don't blame us when you can't fit outside a side of your house.

Ever been to a nude beach, or resort?
What is amazing is that the ratio of "good looking" to the average to middling looking people is about half and half.
Any one who has participated in group nudity will tell you that, once you get used to it, it matters not what your outside appearance is. You really get to know who a person is without the shield of clothing.

I don't think nudity should necessarily be encouraged, but puritanical and damaging teachings that nudity, and the body, is shameful should be discouraged.

No one worried about skin cancer then, or else nobody finds constant suncream application as annoying as me, spent the day wrangling 4 kids at the beach and I have decided head to toe uv suits are the way forward.

Any one for a quick game of kick the can?

Since several studies have found that nudists have better body images than non-nudists, shouldn't nudity be encouraged as a counter to the fashion and entertainment industry's demeaning body propaganda?
It's a good thought, but eventually, once nudity became the norm, people would just go back to picking on each other again. The good body image effects afforded by nudity would disappear along with the novelty.

Depends Upon My Mood..
There are people who do not wash their clothes very often and wear the same stained clothing week after week. By your logic, that would be sufficient reason to get rid of clothes.

No ...dirty clothes are not the same thing to me as pieces of toilet paper in your beniny crack. Its just on a different level..You can have a squeaky clean butt hole and be wearing soiled clothes.I just dont want in particular to have to see things hanging down and dirty but holes and all of that.I''de rather soiled clothes.I'de rather not know or "see" the details of someones flap that hangs over their pubic area.Or the marks..Or if they are on their period or not....Its just not the thing I care to see or expose myself to.

IF it makes some people happy to run around having their period drip down their leg or men running around displaying ther hard ons..THEN MORE power to you.

And do NOT say women can use tampons or pads..that would be "clothing".

I personally do not want to watch dangling excecerries and have to worry about if someone passes gas in a chair that someting besides gas came out.

My grandbaby is 14 months old..I let him be nude..But trust me he is not unlike an adult.Stuff comes out his rear end..He plays with his man unit..And I dont think most adult men are far from that..

I profoundly doubt that. From what I've seen nudity improves body images.

What you are saying here seems to ignore the fact that people's in some parts of the world do indeed go around naked. They don't seem to have the problems you are describing in the Amazon. On what grounds do you suppose the rest of us are inferior in dealing with nudity to Amazonians?

Those people go around naked because they are POOR Phil..And those people arent any hapier than the rest of us..They just deal. They certaintly aren't happy because they have no clothes..Even though I dare you to find a "country" where they go around completely naked and they have a low divorce rate.

I think if it makes YOU happy to run around naked you should!!!

ALSO make sure you pick all the toilet paper out of your behiny cuz thats gross.

Encouraged? No. Allowed? Absolutely. What valid reason could there possibly be to tell someone that the flesh and bone he or she was born in is "inappropriate" for public witnessing? It's only natural.

Its also only "natural" to throw up or urinate or defecate..We arent "allowed " to do that anywhere we want no matter how "natural" it is.

Our "creases" in our private areas hold bacteria.Do you get that? Its not about utopia breast..

I peronally do NOT want to go to a resturant and sit in a chair with my naked butt that another woman just sat in with her naked butt.I do not want genitals being smeared all over public benches and my couch and on and on..YES its natural..and its also NATURAL to put a diaper on a baby.

If "she should be nude" WHY put a diaper on a baby?..Why should a woman wear "feminine"protection ..why dont we just bleed all over the place..ITS NATURAL after all...

Never mind...

I'm throwing in with Sunstone, from personal experience. The first time I mustered up the courage to go naked at a nudie beach, my body image improved noticeably, and instantly. It was like coming out of a cage. I swim in the buff now - or at least topless - whenever the mood takes me, whether I'm officially on a "nudie beach" or not. In Cornwall, there are a lot of sparsely populated, secluded beaches surrounded by cliffs and people are very laisser-faire about clothes.

There's a time and a place for everything though. I don't think it would be as liberating if I were, say, on a crowded train on the commute to work, and I wouldn't want to be naked in front of somebody else's family picnic with little kids running around, just in case their parents are weird about it. I really admire the woman who challenged Toronto's prohibition on female toplessness and won, but I can't picture myself doing my Sunday shopping with my baps a-dangling, no matter how hot it was.

I completely agree with you.

And I with you. :foryou:

I think it is because you can hide our "imperfections" with clothes - or try to. Or we convince ourselves we can. I've even spent hours looking for the most "flattering" bikini, discarding all the ones that make me look fat, or my boobs look too small, or my thighs look too sausage-like and pasty, or that don't bring out my eyes, etc. THen there's the whole ritual of making sure there aren't any unsightly hairs poking out from anywhere (and the second bikini, with the little shorts in case there's no time for that). But it's a bikini, for ****'s sake. I could make one out of two hankies. It's not really hiding anything. If I don't bother wearing one, though, there's nothing to hide. I'm just me. And, yeah, I have a pot belly and not much in the boobs department and my pubic hair is unruly. But if that guy over there is comfortable with his tiny penis hanging out, I suppose I can live with it.

How do you know anything that you've said there is true, Dallas? What evidence do you have for your claim that people living in the Amazon basin prefer clothing? Frankly, I strongly suspect you don't have a clue what their opinions about clothing are and instead you are just making up facts about them to suit your argument.

In some ways it seems counter-intuitive to say that nudity can build body-confidence. I think that's why so many people who have limited or no experience of nudity feel so strongly that it does not or cannot build body-confidence. But this is a case where the reality is different than the armchair theory. In reality, nudity does seem to build body-confidence, body acceptance, and perhaps higher self-esteem. At least I believe I've seen that take place on several occassions with people I know.

Well it seems to me something that people should even be able to grasp from an armchair. You don't need to worry about people seeing your butt acne and stretch marks when they are actually seeing your butt acne and stretch marks.
