If we were a nation of Buddhist monks there would be vastly more agreement of the right thing to do as a moral society, and fewer disputes for bad reasons.
Actually quite the opposite. There wouldn't be wasted time arguing disputes, and all the inaction that happens when people squabble over petty things. You probably wouldn’t get much done though.
Let's say they all agree on all things. If we were a nation of Buddhist monks there would be vastly more agreement of the right thing to do as a moral society, and fewer disputes for bad reasons.
It's not as if Buddhist monks have housekeepers and chefs doing all their work. They actually are quite busy and disciplined in doing their tasks.Let's say they all agree on all things.
What do they actually get done in the real world?
Gazing at navels doesn't build cars or make vaccines.
One's person's ideological nonsense is another's important beliefs. It's not as if Buddhist monks have housekeepers and chefs doing all their work. They actually are quite busy and disciplined in doing their tasks.
Of course my point is that there are many things that the USA should be doing but are not getting done due to needless squabbling over ideological nonsense. Climate change and healthcare are two huge issues that just aren't getting done. We see the floods and damage from the recent hurricane causing all sorts of damage that could be avoided with better infrastructure. Wee don't want to spend the money, but then money gets spent when the damage happens. And often it is just repairs, not reworking the infrastructure to avoid it again.
It's this sort of short-sighted decision making that my humorous suggestion would solve. Be responsible. Get done what needs to be done to avoid future problems.
A mockery of our justice system?I don't like any of them. In my opinion those shows have had a huge hand in people making a mockery of our justice system.
