Sikhs: Do all 'religions' lead to God?

Half truth, latter part is right but Sikhi does leads to god, because Sikhi is Gurmat and if you follow Gurbani you achieve oneness.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸੇ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥
Gurmaṯ jinī pacẖẖāṇi▫ā se ḏekẖėh saḏā haḏūr.
Those who follow the Guru's Teachings realize Him, and see Him Ever-present.

Abicẖal nīv ḏẖarī gur Nānak niṯ niṯ cẖaṛai savā▫ī. ||2||15||24||
Guru Nanak laid the immovable foundation, which grows higher and higher each day. ||2||15||24||
ਮਃ 5

Gurmat is a framework which enables a person to transcend religion. The Guru (the metaphysical Guru) is not Sikh. Sikhism is a religion like any other, trapped in time and space, bound to an Earthly population. I'm sure aliens who aren't Sikh still have their methods to 'lead to god' (whatever that means).

Guru Nanak Sahib started nirmal panth according to Bhai Gurdas who was the contemponary of the Gurus and the scribe for SGGS. Just because you have another mindset dont twist Sikhi to suit your agenda. The same Nirmal Panth is Khalsa Panth as Khalsa was envisioned by Guru Nanak and completed by Guru Gobind Singh.

Sikhi is the teaching of the Guru which is Gurmat, hence Sikhi does lead to God if followed to the T unlike you claimed in your post.

Twist Sikhi? The Sikh quam does a good enough job of that on its own.

What exactly is the 'T', anyway?

Is it what is written in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

Is Damdami Taksal's rehat maryada closer to the 'T', or SGPC's?
Or perhaps some of those other mayradas you linked me to?

What of Fareed Ji - since he was around before the invention of Sikhi, does that mean he did not 'reach god'?

The records from Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time are not exactly complete. There is not even a clear record of daily prayers, or a clear record of the bania used during the first Vaisakhi.

So please, if you are the holder of the one and only 'T' that leads to God, do share it with us. :)

Showing your ignorance again. Sheikh Fareed of 12th century was a fanatical Muslim and even the current head of their sufi order in Pakistan has said that Bani in SGGs is of Farid Sani (successor of Bhagat Farid) and not of Sheikh Fareed. The fact that Farid was sitting on the throne of Farid Sheikh is mentioned in Gurbani itself:

Page 488, Line 16
ਜਿਸੁ ਆਸਣਿ ਹਮ ਬੈਠੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਬੈਸਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੫॥
That seat, upon which we now sit - many others sat on it and have since departed. ||5||
Sekh Farid

Besides that how would you explain Bhagat Fareed using words such as Gurmat, Sadh Sangat if he was a Muslim of the 12th century? It has been proven beyond doubt that it is second Farids bani, who was a contemponary of Guru Nanak Sahib as mentioned in all historical records, their meetings are recorded too.

Summary from another forum:

Gurbani of Bhagat Farid Ji in Aad Guru Granth Sahib is of Sheikh Braham Farid Saani. He was the 13th successor of Farid Ganj Shakar. Every successor adopted the name Farid. There is a lot of internal evidence in Gurbani to prove this such as grammar, use of similar Punjabi words and usage of words like Gur, Saadh, Prabh which are not used by Muslims or in Islam. Also authenticity plays a big role in it. Dr. Khaliq Ahmad Nizami (muslim) in his Phd thesis has proved beyond the doubt that the Bani is of Farid Saani because Farid Ganj Shakar never composed any bani. This fact is accepted by descendants of Farid Ji (Farid Gharana).

Surinder Singh Kohli, Gurbachan Singh Talib, Balwant Singh Anand, Prof. Sahib Singh and Dr. Trilochan Singh have written in favor of first Farid. But I think Dr. Preetam Singh’s recent book is better than all of them yet still very weak. Nihal Singh Soori and Giani Gurdit Singh have written in favor of Farid Saani. The latter’s book, a well-researched one, is still in the market

Secondly Sikhi is Gurmat, but ofcourse people got one 'before' Sikhi too as mentioned in Gurbani. I never denied that. I just said you were wrong in saying that one can't reach God by following Sikhi.

SGGS is the Rehat to be complemented with historical things that are in direct line with Gurmat, as simple as that.

And to the one who is saying there are not enough sources about Guru Gobind Singh Jis life, the Vaisakhi episode or Banis read or Nitnem Banis: read more. Read alot of old books. Because I know of atleast 10 books written between 1700 and 1800 that mention nitnem as the first 13 pannas of SGGS. Thats just one example.

I have never come across that about Fareed, thank you for sharing.

I didn't say that one 'can't reach god' by following Sikhi. What I said was that no religion leads to 'god', not even Sikhism. Religion itself is limited. There is spiritual truth in Sikhi, living what the Guru teaches, and remaining immersed in Naam simran is what 'leads to god'. IMHO.

There are plenty of rehats. Who can tell which is correct and which is not? Why do we need anything other than Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

I 100000% agree that nitnem is the first 13 pannas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It's obvious. But how come there are so many more now? You can't participate in khande di pahul without committing to reading/reciting/listening to more. If you know of an amrit sanchar that only asks for those first 13 pages, please let me know.

(edited after I checked what I originally said about Sikhi and religion)
