I just noticed the little church thingy. Never showed up before and didn't know what you guys were talking about. Now it's there. Hmm, I bet we'd have a different reaction about it if it were a pentacle up there or some other symbol though.

I don't think a pentacle would be appropriate either. It gives the wrong impression about what sort of topics and people we welcome to the site, even if it's only a small thing. The old icon was badly outdated, but at least it was neutral.

I think the point was that if it were a pentacle there might be more people upset by it. There's kind of this "I don't want to make a fuss" feeling I have about it myself. But I do want to make a fuss. It's not a Christian site and Christianity does not equal religion as a whole.

I had not paid attention to that image before but now that some of you have mentioned it, I agree - something neutral would be better.

Yeah, that was my point. Where as some look at the church/cross and say "yeah, that just isn't right and should be something else really", some certain members here of a certain flavor would notice a pentacle or some other religious symbol and be quite more vocal about the "what the heck is that supposed to mean?" type of reaction. Just my impression.

I'd like to voice an opinion that many have expressed all over the forum: the media alerts. While it's not a big task to click the "Mark Viewed" link I feel it's not good usability design to require people to do so, as a lot more posters have no interest in a stranger's uploads than there are those who do. On a similar note the media and album count in the poster statistics feel a little like clutter, since neither statistic is related to the overall forum activity. This is especially true since the numbers also include private albums that are supposed to only be visible for your friends. Could these be changed?

There are a few things I really miss, after the change, and am wondering if they will ever return. (Maybe they're still here, and I just can't figure it out)
1) I miss the Blue DIR I post in commonly.
2) I miss being able to 'find all posts by' ... when curious about a fellow poster, you can find a lot about them by reading a few of their posts.
3) I miss being able to skim down and find the particular threads I'm interested in quickly. It used to be in a separate column, but now it's in a light color beneath each individual thread title. Just harder to find quickly.

Other than that, I like most of the changes. 'Alerts' make it easier to find recent stuff, and the separtaion of new posts and recent posts helps too.

1) This was asked somewhere else too, and the answer was they're working on it. Do blue DIRs will be back eventually, but I don't have details on that. Some of the admins might know.

2) This is known as Postings in the current profiles. There's also a link down the list showing threads started by a person.

3) Can't help you with that one. I miss it too, but I doubt the current layout is going to change due to space constrainments. @Brent W can tell if it's realistic or not.

Thank you, Infinitum. 2 makes it harder, but possible anyway. As for 3, it's definitely possible by creating another column right after the first one. Some additional title threads would take up 2 lines, and that's about it, as far as I can see. But who knows? Not sure how much it bothers other people. I just found it easier, as there are so many subsections I'm not really interested in, but still want the ability to look at them all.

Just to add two cents, the cross is a magnificent symbol for any mystic. It's not just Christian. It's the realization of being in 10 directions. It's the perspective that helps one realize the third side of the fence. Speaking as an atheist, I rather like it.

What church symbol?
On my browser tab for RF the little icon next to the site/page name is a little church with a cross on it. I believe that is what they are referring to. It use to be just an "RF" there, now it's a church symbol.

See the churches in the red circles? Much like the Facebook F, Netflix N or Reddit alien the church is RF's symbol. It used to be a squared RF but I don't have an example of that.
