So christains weren't always against homosexuality

I know that the Christian view of homosexuality hasn't always been clearcut, I agree with you. Even today it's not entirely clearcut. There was some gay saints I believe, unless I'm much mistaken, of course some of them probably remained celibate. Believe it or not, even all evangelicals/fundamentalists are not against homosexuality. I used to think that, until I met a Apostolic Pentacostal who accepts gay people.

At least according to this article they weren't: When Marriage Between Gays Was a Rite

I found this linked to in another thread that was discussing something else so I thought I would bring the article into it's own thread for discussion and debate.

Well that was quite informal, but it just shows how much heresy was in the Catholic Church when it had all the power, but that's just my view point take it how you want it.

Oh she's not a member of the Rock. She attends your usual average Pentecostal church. I consider her a friend, and we still talk sometimes. She just thinks you can't choose to be gay, and she has a son who's gay.

I wouldn't suggest expressing that view. Some apostolic can be so judgmental at times to the point killing one's salvation.

Oh believe me Thesavor, I know they can. My dad became an Apostolic. He is very judgmental. We go around about things sometimes. He used to be Anglican, and he raised me Anglican, and I never became Pentecostal, so he knows how I feel. I was always a very liberal Christian, and even were I still Christian, I'd still be Episcopalian.

Kejos Saint Catherine's Monastary has just as much to do with Christ as you. You can't make the call on who's a Christian or not. Stop trying to.

I wonder If I know him. Though judgmental or not I still think it has sound doctrine.

Well except that the Bible says to judge not unless you also be judged, and that salvation is by faith and observing the commandments of love God and your neighbor. Homosexuals can do these two things, and frankly, their salvation is not up for judgment by anyone except God.

Possibly, though maybe my wife would not quite see eye to eye with you. But the born again are never going to say that 'Saint Catherine's Monastery' corresponds to anything in reality. The only way to even think of convincing the born again about this is to search the Bible. As nobody in 2000 years has discovered grounds in that, the chance seems very remote.

Though of course the born again, considering themselves the pillar of truth, would not necessarily agree that homosexuality is ok even if the Bible could be said to say so. There was societal taboo about homosexuality long before there was Christianity.
