Sincere and humble apologies to all.

-For any DIR or discussion sub-forum that is colored blue, non-members of that area are limited only to respectful questions, and are not allowed to make any non-question posts.
-For any DIR or discussion sub-forum that is colored green, non-members of that area may make respectful posts that comply with the tenets and spirit of that area. This includes questions, as well as knowledgeable comments.
The Same Faith Debates subforum is specifically for debate between members of the same faith. Members that are not part of a same faith debate thread's selected faith may not post at all in those threads. The Political "Only" subforums are also used specifically for that group and may not be posted in by members that do not correspond to the political position of the subforum. These two forums are colored purple.
Hi folks, I have two things to add to this thread:
1) I agree the guy that wrote Alceste's hubby was in all likelihood mentally ill...I will bet on bipolar...because he did a 180 degree reversal overnight...and
2) I am a feminist.
I have a question...... now that we have established that the majority of posters on Reddit are chauvinist pigs......what % would you say are chauvinist pigs in this forum ?
According to RF's Rules and Regulations, non-feminists may not post here:
RF: FAQ
The Feminist Only forum is titled as such and is the color purple distinctly because it is for feminists only. Debate is allowed between feminists. It has occurred and will continue to occur, but only for members who self-identify as feminists.
Drolefille is not out of line for questioning and for pointing out how this subforum is defined.
Ah. Sorry. I did make an assumption there myself then. But it was due to the forum subtitle: it says no debate. Yet the rules you quote say debate IS allowed.
Even you'll have to admit that it's extremely confusing: Seeing as i actually tried to find a general rule FAQ but couldn't: ALL sub-forums should have a link to it.
I didn't find the FAQ even though i tried searching for it: AND the forum subtitle is contrary to the FAQ. I cannot really know which one is more current and more "true."
I am sorry though.
He may not be mentally ill at all, but just a plain 'ole sexist pig. Someone with Bi-polar disorder can't control their ups and downs like that. But a bigot can do the mental gymnastics to shoot someone and claim it was a mistake and expect to pretend nothing happened.Hi folks, I have two things to add to this thread:

I can't say. Not because I don't want to, but I don't presume how many members here hold on to various degrees of chauvinistic beliefs and behaviors.
I'm still not surprised by the 180 degree turn by the poster who thought Alceste's husband was a woman. I currently am leasing from a building owner who will not address any of my concerns as a tenant, unless my husband calls him, that is. I'll call and leave messages, text him, email him. Nothing. Hubbie will send him one simple text saying that he's my husband and that he wants x,y,z done....and presto landlord responds within 5 minutes.
This isn't a one-time deal. It's been going on for a year now. Doesn't matter that it's my name on the lease and my name on the business license. Husband is responded to with the respect that I am entitled to.
I've heard of Reddit many times but never got around to seeing what it actually is. After seeing this thread and glancing at that red pill thing, I don't think I want to bother looking any further into it.

Probably, very likely, almost certainly far worse than when he thought her hubby was a woman. Men especially tend to take it very hard, seemingly to the point of personally, when they meet a "man" who has renounced her "manliness." And from what I've saw on Reddit, like the thread saying confidence is a masculine trait and confidence in women in not attractive, those apes would make a woman feel more welcome. And yeah, the guy might not be bipolar. Maybe Alceste's hubby should tell the guy he is transsexual, and see what comes back next.

I may give it another look then.Reddit is a large website with many smaller groups. I use it for the educational stuff- AskHistorians is one of the best resources I've found for GOOD answers to historical questions - and some of the women oriented subreddits (TwoX and her sister groups) as well as the religious/pagan/etc. oriented ones.
I also like the debate ones, even if I read more than I write there. TheRedPill is gross and the default subs have many similar people in them - /r/funny is as likely to use gay slurs as not. But /r/LGBT, /r/ainbow, /r/actuallesbians etc. are really good groups. Reddit falls into a very broad category, i find it hard to write off any more than I write off the whole world. But then sometimes I want to do that too.
I may give it another look then.
