Pardon me while I drag us completely off topic! I think both are hotties!
Here's a good one of your George!
And one of Ben, in character!
That'll be enough eye candy for my visual sweet tooth!
Back on topic! You brought up an interesting point, Sunstone.
Both in Japan and among some Native Americans individuals were known to change their names when they felt that some event, experience or circumstances had changed them, changed their selves. There was one Japanese painter for example who went through several artistic periods, each time taking a new name. I don't think this has been a frequent occurance, but it's my understanding that it was more frequent in traditional Japan and in some of the old nations than it is among Westerners today.
Is the internet today allowing people to express this same impulse to name oneself anew, when one feels one has been reborn by some life changing event or cirumstances? I've wondered about that. What do y'all think?
I think it does make it easier for people to express change in their life through their names, which I think is a good thing. Hopefully, it helps them to celebrate some aspect of their character!
