So why doesn't god heal amputees?

Has it ever been considered that perhaps there is something Allah wishes to give or provide, or even teach to a person who is born without a limb or loses one? I reckon it isn't a punishment. Allah could heal it, but then would that ruin the lesson?

Christians give him him credit for healing pretty much most thing that we have cure for, but never has he just spontaneously healed an amputees missing limb i the same manner. why is that? does he have a grudge against cripples in general? they are not worthy?

God will heal anyone with enough faith. People are healed every day. Christ was not able to heal anyone if they did not have faith and the same applies today, one needs to have faith and authority from God.

god damn it, the title should read "why doesnt god heal amputees'........i hate myself.......

You don't strike me as the most happy person I have ever met...

Hmm....
As much as I am not religious I'm still trying to fathom how to answer your question in a none-offensive suitable way for RF.

Have you ever thought that maybe 'god' doesn't heal them because every day anyone wakes up and lives and breaths another day is a 'miracle'.
As with magic and real wizards and witches it's not about smoke and fireballs and the like, that stuffs saved for hollywood. It's about finding the good in every situation which is possible believe it or not.
I think the thing is that people expect waaay to much from a 'god' who theoreticaly does enough for us all every day to keep us on this rock.

Geez I shock myself sometimes lol, I'm almost starting to sound like a believer myself :D or maybe thats just 3 oclock in the morning coming at me like a freight train .

I hope this helped in some way to answer you're question :)

Actually DP maybe 3 am ain't so bad for you. I actually essentially agree with what you've said. I don't think people realize how handicap people handle stuff. Can't say I know cuz I'm not handicapped, but from what I see they have better dispositions than alot of people who've got all their bells and whistles.

God isn't a circus animal who jumps through hoops to impress humans. Your faith, or lack of it, does not bring Him to act in any way.

The miracle is that we exist, that the earth exists and the universe. If this is not enough for people, then that's just too bad.

One day people will realize that it's not about them, unfortunately today is not that day.

why is that?

Well, for one thing, God's word has been completely revealed to us already, and Jesus has come and died for us already.

The need for miracles was never just to make someone well...miracles were used to prove to nonbelievers about Jesus and God. Now that we have that inspired word, there is no need for them anymore.

Also consider the following passage:

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
1 Corinthians 13:8-9

Tongues and prophesying were both considered miracles, and this verse says that they will fail and cease.

If miracles happen today, why aren't people raised from the dead anymore? Why can't water be turned into wine? When someone can present me with solid examples of miracles, of someone being raised from the dead (or someone's limbs growing back after amputation), then I can believe that miracles do still happen. Until then...

whats the big deal deal, its just the word that properly describes you, if you are crippled, then you are 'a' cripple, just like if you are redheaded, then you are 'a' redhead. why is it offensive?

Properly describes? It's a pity RF prohibits me from properly describing my thoughts of your post. Please choose your words carefully.

God doesn't heal amputees because I don't believe He exists. If He did, what makes you think He must give you another limb?

Your complaining is worthless.

Oh, that's a classic if I've ever heard one. :biglaugh: God's power is contingent upon your personal belief.
My point was if he doesn't believe God exists, why must he complain about it?

And Atheism is not a belief system, by the way.

My apologies. I misunderstood you.

And Atheism is not a belief system, by the way.
I know that. When I referred to "your personal belief," I was commenting on your statement, "I don't believe He exists."

Simple:
God does not heal amputees because we were made lacking the required genetic makeup for regenerative characteristics.
Give genetic researchers a few more years though.

Because he's not real.

Are you seriously implying G-d hates me because I'm a "cripple"?

And thank you for using one of the most offensive words you could.
Most of us are not aware of the proper terms...

Proper terms when addressing disabilities

sight impaired
hearing impaired
physically disabled
mentally disabled

amputee = ??? (is there a better term for this)

You know I'm surprised by the lack of originality provided from atheists on this subject. It really is quite enlightening when you try to take a different perspective as seen here:
http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=834061&postcount=23

Heck even a brief explanation of why you don't believe wouldn't be alot to ask now would it?
Be inventive, be original, be happy :D

Edit: And yes at this point in time I do consider myself an atheist.
