Soap Operas

Anyone else watch any? Don't be ashamed to admit it if you do. If you're home during the day they're a far cry better than crap like Maury and Steve Wilkos. :p

I live one, I don't need to watch them

All I need is an evil twin and my life could put their story lines to shame, haha.

Jay (the boyfriend) watches the Bold and the Beautiful though!

I watch a german soap Verbotene Liebe (forbidden love) I kid myself that I watch it to help me learn German but I am hooked. I used to watch Sons and Daughters (The Australian Soap that gave birth to Verbotene Liebe) when I was a kid. And before that the Brazilian soap Dancing Days, I have a long history of soap addiction.

I don't cry though, even when the princess and her reformed giggalo husband, whose first wife was a junkie who ran of with her shrink, fell out of the sky on their wedding day when the helicopter they had built together was sabotaged by an evil count and crashed. It was ok in the end though, they only had scratches, turns out if you are going to fall out of the sky from an aircraft, a helicopter is the way to go.

Myself, I watch All My Children and One Life to Live. Been hooked on AMC since '96 and started watching OLTL sometime after that. I started watching when I was home on maternity leave when I lived in Florida. Had no family anywhere near me and all my friends were those I worked with. So, just me and baby home alone. You kind of crave some adult interaction and soaps were the closest I had. Been hooked ever since. Once you get into the the stories and characters it's hard just to turn off.

I don't think we get that one here, As The World Turns and General Hospital used to be on in the 90's but I don't think people watched them much and they just fizzled out.

Australian Daytime soaps are very popular here, Neighbours , Home and Away and All Saints, but I don't watch them, they are only bad, I like em really, really, really bad :D If the sets ain't wobbling I'm not watching

I do everything I can to avoid Soap Operas (except hanging up on Blayzeh...)

NZ has a couple of homegrowns, the longest running is Shortland Street which has such poor acting as to be laughable. Someone told me that was the point of soaps, so I laughed laughably.

That's because once you get a taste of my soap opera lifestyle, you're automatically hooked and are like a junkie jonesin' for a fix. :p
