Somewhat more seriously, I think there are different kinds of intelligence. That is, I agree with Howard Gardner that there are at least eight distinct kinds of human intelligence. And I believe I've noticed that people who are not all that smart in one way are often smart in another.

i think smart and intelligent are not same.

Yeah i agree with you, inteligence isnt just a single measurable quantity, its the simultanious action on many different neural systems in the brain working in harmony towards achieving a goal. Of course differences between people will exist, that make some more creativly inteligent, some who can deal with numbers better, some with literature, and so on. Its what makes our society so successfull
Saying this though, it could cause a bit of conflict of views between people, and the reletivly subjective assessment of 'inteligence' may be biast to certain types.

I couldn't agree more! I know many people with "street smarts" that have no "book smarts" and many "book smart" people with no common sence!

I have two of those and a little of the third.... does that make me odd?

I have known some folks that when God said brains they thought he said rain and got under the table....now I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do try an hold my own sometimes...everyone here as had very intelligent answers I thought since I am relatively new here I may change that thought later down the road...

Honestly, some people aon this forum are BEYOND intelligent, they are jsut stunning. I have difficulty comprehending what they are saying sometimes! Sometimes the intelligence is jsut too much... I really is...
