Nice piece of news; however, considering that the plane of our galaxy lies at pretty much a right angle to the center's ejecta this is extremely improbable.

That there is a black hole in the center of our galaxy is shown by the orbit of stars around a space in the middle of our galaxy. And though the orbits prove it to be extremely massive. 4.1 million times the mass of our Sun, there is no star there or other source of light. Now it could be conceivably be something else, but there is no evidence for any other object besides a super massive black hole. Do you have an explanation for the motion of stars around the center of our galaxy?

Such a shame Stephen Hawking didn't live just a bit longer to see this.

He lived with purpose, and I think he was already happy enough seeing it through the equations... that's more than our sensory organs can ever amount to. So we should celebrate his tireless work with this.

Very true, but to have seen his life's work previously only "seen" in equations. It is a shame he didn't miss it by much.

Tomorrow is supposed to be the day to release the photo(s). I'm curious to see what they have.
