Here's something you didn't know about me (or rather, my family), since I only found out last night: my great-grandmother's sister was married to the infamous Canadian criminal Norman "Red" Ryan.

Now that is interesting. Why is there no cowboy movie about him yet? Stupid Canadian film industry...

Here's something else you don't know about me, I used to be a grip and worked on a Jackie Chan cowboy movie. In fact, the set is probably rotting away in Alberta waiting for some industrious Canadian film company to make a movie about your grandma's sister's husband.

Probably 'cause he wasn't a cowboy. He was a gangster in the 20s and 30s. :D

Or... well, I don't know if he was in a gang. From the sounds of things, he mainly worked solo. But that ambience, you know?

Neat! I was part of the local crew for the Toronto Lillith Fair show in 1997 (IIRC - it might've been 1996). I've still got the T-shirt around somewhere.

I very nearly went into theatre. For university, I had to decide between acceptances to engineering and to theatre technical production and it wasn't an easy decision. In the end, I went for the line of work where I wouldn't have to find a new job every six months. :)

What other movies did you work on? My sister did some extra work for a while, so you two may have been on the same set.

I don't like mirrors either.

Every now and then I get this strangest feeling that somebody is trying to poison me. Stupid, I know, but it's enough that I have to reassure myself a bit before I'll eat anything.

I eat a lot of yoplait yogurt. The banana strawberry is just too good to not have everyday.

I keep a hip flask full of orange tictacs on my desk at all times.

I've had the same waterproof digital watch since I was 10, and I'm wearing it right now. It's pretty beaten up, but it still works.

I have a bit of an addiction to nos energy drinks and boxes of good & plenty.

Me too, although I also got in trouble with the film union for being the only working female grip in the province of Alberta (at the time), and being offered jobs beyond my seniority level because I did a better job than the men.

The others were not very notable. The Jack Bull, Texas Rangers, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (the Disney series), a Christmas special for CMT, a few indie films that never went anywhere and a bunch of concerts (Niel Diamond, Toby Keith, CMT music awards and some I've forgotten). I also stage managed a few folk festivals in and around Montreal.

But I met Jackie Chan. That's the main thing. :D (Owen Wilson too, but he's not nearly as impressive.)

My main memory of Lillith Fair: I was only there for teardown, so a bunch of us had to wait backstage until the show was over. While Jewel was onstage, Sarah McLachlan walked through the lunchroom-ish area where we were sitting, all hurried, looking very concerned and headed straight through the opposite door. A few minutes later, she came back the other way, all smiles, holding a big Mag-Lite flashlight like a Teddy bear. I never did find out what that was all about.

I speak on average no more than 100 words per day.

I am a furry.

People who listen to my type of music find it dreadfully depressing and meaningless.

I've never owned a car in my life (just motorcycles and a cpl vans, which I never drove).

I once calculated that if you added up all the miles I'd hitch-hiked in my life and made a straight line out of the sum, you could circle the earth 9.6 times.

Flaming Queer
I'm jealous, proud, vain, narcissistic, obnoxious and over confident.
I find body hair to be disgusting.
I resent Christmas, it's commercial festivities and hypocritical culture.
I am intelligent and capable, but lack motivation to act.
I need deadlines with repercussions in order to get something done.
I'm both a tidy and an untidy person.
I re-invented myself about 2 years ago when I first came to university, I made myself into a very social person.
I never used to be able to speak in a group of more than 3 people.
I used to hate smoking, my resentment of it encouraged my dad to quit when I was younger.

Voice deeper than Thor's
I'm strongly considering learning Dutch and moving to Holland.
My voice is indeed deeper than Thor's.
I want dreadlocks. Admit it, so do you.
I have been mistaken for a 40 year old black German body builder on more than one occasion.
I'm better than everyone else in every way except I have pulmonary valve stenosis and ventricular septal defect.

- I cut my own hair.

- I took up tae-kwon-do and hapki-do at age 15, and was black belt by the time I was 18. I began instructing classes when I was 19 and continued to do so for about 2 years until my studio closed it's doors. I'm currently looking into taking up Krav Maga.

- I began body-building my senior year in high school and continued with it until I was 24. I plan on getting back into it hopefully next year.

- I am deathly afraid of heights. I won't even go into tall buildings or structures. Oddly enough, flying doesn't bother me.

- I get claustraphobic if I'm in an underground sctructure or the lower level of a boat.

- I have dense body structure (minus the skull of course :p): I'm currently 5'7" and 250lbs with only 18-20% body fat.

- I'm a closet geek.

- I will get panic attacks every so often.

I also have a Celtic Cross tattoo on my right arm/shoulder: The same tattoo that my late cousin had on his right arm/shoulder. He was my best friend and I got that tattoo to honor his life and his memory.

I am well-versed on the theory of tying up necktie knots, and in fact I have an (awfully outdated) webpage on the matter.
have you met the reverse half Windsor.
You start with the tie with the seam out and produce an equilateral knot.
The tail remains seam out.

I have used it all my life and it provides a medium small very neat knot.
I do not know if I invented it, but no one taught me.
