Now it came to be the day when the sons
"Sons of." Heb., beneh´; LXX, "angels.
of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them. JOB 1;6

Very good you are reading the bible. I only hope you are not taking the texts to literally. I also hope you will be interested in reading the books from other religions and discover the similarities between them. I hope you'll find what your are looking for.

Yes, I like that version better, thankyou.

I will try to do that, my list of books to read is getting longer and longer though.

I joined this forum earlier this year when I started to read the Bible. I'm just about finished it. I just have a quick, hopefully simple question. Can anyone tell me who the "sons of God" are referred to The Book of Job 1:6? Thanks in advance.

Hi kadzbiz,

The book of Job is a Jewish literary novel based on an allegory to illustrate the role
of Israel in the Counsel of God. Therefore, the book must be interpreted metaphorically if you have some Philosophical training into diving for the pearls of truth deep down the waters of symbols. It's inconceivable that the Almighty Who is not like a man, could be persuaded by a rival, even if it existed. Satan is but a concept to illustrate the evil inclination in man. And angels are only emanations. Human influences as a result of man's intellect to think abstractly.

One more word about angels: Do you remember the dream of Jacob at Betel? I am referring to that long ladder from the earth up to Heaven with angels going up and then down. That's in Genesis 28:12. Focus on the fact that the angels would first go
up then down. How come not the other way around if angels according to popular beliefs are in Heaven? Those angels were Jacob's anxieties and uncertainties reaching out for answers due to his predicaments. That's all. Nothing literal.
