A devotee is in the heart of the Lord and Lord is in the heart of a devotee. To understand, I must first become a devotee.

sādhavo hṛdayaḿ mahyaḿ
sādhūnāḿ hṛdayaḿ tv aham
mad-anyat te na jānanti
nāhaḿ tebhyo manāg api

The pure devotee is always within the core of My heart, and I am always in the heart of the pure devotee. My devotees do not know anything else but Me, and I do not know anyone else but them. Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 9 Chapter 4 Verse 68

For a devotee, center point of religion is satisfaction of God. If I want to be religious, with 'me' in the center, then I simply want to be cheated in the name of religion.

dyūtaḿ chalayatām asmi
tejas tejasvinām aham
jayo 'smi vyavasāyo 'smi
sattvaḿ sattvavatām aham

I am also the gambling of cheats, and of the splendid I am the splendor. I am victory, I am adventure, and I am the strength of the strong.

There are many kinds of cheaters all over the universe. Of all cheating processes, gambling stands supreme and therefore represents Kṛṣṇa. As the Supreme, Kṛṣṇa can be more deceitful than any mere man. If Kṛṣṇa chooses to deceive a person, no one can surpass Him in His deceit. His greatness is not simply one-sided — it is all-sided. Bhagavad-gita As It Is Chapter 10 Verse 36

What does this mean?

This means two things:

1. God is the origin and He is also the reservoir of all qualities. Everything, which is inside or even outside of our experience, exists in God in its completeness. Even the propensity to cheat. We say 'God is great' because He is super excellent in whatever He chooses to do. Nobody can surpass Him, even in deceiving someone.

2. A required font is missing in your system. Please read it as Krishna. :)

Sanatana Dharma (Eternal Law or Eternal Way) is the proper name of Hinduism. Some non-Hindus equate the word Hindu with Indian ethnicity, so non-Indian Hindus may say they follow Sanatana Dharma, or some variation that you may have heard. Usually I say "I follow Hinduism" or "I follow Vaishnava Hinduism", only occasionally saying "I am Hindu" if I think the person will "get it".

Friend MR,

not into labels but ive heard people call themselves dharmis and others sanatanists. i was just wondering
Me too! though born here; never prefer to use any label other than am a *being* at best *human*. Am part of existence and not a separated entity and so am already connected.
Where is the point where get separated?
Let us take it from there!
over to you!

Sanatana = Eternal
Dharma = Nature

Eternal nature of the soul = Sanatana Dharma.

All 'isms' like Buddhism, Hinduism, Islamism, Jainism...are faiths. Today I follow hinduism, tomorrow my faith can change to Buddhism, then to Christian ism and so on.

Faiths can change. Eternal nature cannot.

'Sweetness' is the eternal nature of sugar. 'Heat and light' is the eternal nature of fire...their sanatana dharma.

Now you have atleast understood that "ignorance and hatred separates us" , now can you further analyse where these aspects are coming from?
