Southern Strategy

One thing, though, is that the Democrats have been unwittingly helping the Republicans by shamelessly sucking up to the wealthy classes. The Republicans may be pandering to certain ugly inclinations within their base, but then, so are Democrats.
They have all been corrupted by the lobbyist's bribe money. Which is exactly why the citizenry need to UNITE against them ALL, and vote out every incumbent in every election regardless of their party affiliation until they start acting in the best interest of the people, instead of acting just on the desires of whomever pays them the biggest bribe, including foreign nations.
If the Democrats are seen as sell-outs where the working class will be screwed no matter what, then the only thing left to do is vote along the lines of identity politics. The Republicans may be pandering to that element, but the Democrats set it up that way once they sold out to big business and had no other principles to stand for.
Passing the blame is pointless. The corruption from corporate lobbying is now so rampant that it's destroying us. It has to be stopped. And the only way for us to stop it is to keep voting them out of office no matter who they are or what they promise us until we get some candidates in there that are willing to ACT to clean up the corruption.

I'm not denying that it was certainly an issue, but you're still missing the bigger picture of what led us to that point.

Besides, even the article you linked clearly points out at the beginning that it was LBJ's signing of the Civil Rights Act is what caused him to lament that the South would be lost to the Republicans. You make the "southern strategy" sound as if it was something the Republicans did intentionally, but in fact, it was what the Democrats did that caused it to turn out that way.

The Republicans didn't really even have to do anything, except just sit back and watch the Democrats self-destruct.

What have I’ve been saying this entire time?
The parties switch over issues of civil rights! Something that you downplayed. You even say how the article points that out. So what are u arguing here?

Second. The southern strategy is something the republicans did do intentionally! when LBJ passed the civil rights act of 1964 all those racist southern democrats went over to the republicans side. And the republicans use the southern strategy as a opportunity to grab the southern states during the 1968 and 1972 elections by using a combination of dog-whistle politics as well as a deliberately racist agenda, effectively throwing any social clout the GOP had right out the window.

Also, how did the democrats self-destruct? By being on the right side of history????

Well, for one, their Russia-bashing is reminiscent of McCarthyite xenophobia. They also pejoratively talk of "flyover country" and denigrate large sections of Americans. I see a lot of blanket statements about "whites" and "males," which makes them no better than the white nationalists they claim to be against.

Yes.

Yes, but that doesn't change what the Democrats have done.

So taking about how the Russians are trying to influence or elections and undermine American democracy is called Russian bashing?

That doesn’t change what the democrats have done?

It may sound hyperbolic, but remember that the alt-right has become a legitimate political movement. Donald Trump has created concentration camps for refugees, has accused the his predecessor of being a foreign agent, and has refused to release his tax returns and republicans are complicit. Even after the national tragedies at Charlottesville and Parkland (especially in the case of the former, which was a dispute between right and left-wing protesters yet only the right actually killed anyone) where people were directly murdered by white supremacist. All of whom identified as republicans.

What exactly have the democrats done?

I already reviewed all of this in the post you dismissed with a throwaway one-liner calling it "bull jive." I'm not going to keep answering the same stupid questions over and over just because you're more interested in playing games than having a serious discussion.

At least show me that you have read and are capable of digesting what I wrote in post #24. Show me a substantial response to that post, and then tell me that I'm wrong if you still feel that's the case.

All you’ve been doing is making excuses for the republicans behavior form the past to the present by blaming the big bad democrats.

What is this supposed to mean?

The majority of black folk live in the south. I know because I live there. And the screams of southern racist have always amazed me. Black folk and white folk operate down here almost flawlessly together. There is even black rednecks that drive 4×4 pickup trucks, use chewing tobacco, and hoist rebel flags up while drinking PBR.

Is there still racism? Yes, but they are few and far between. But let's take a northern city like Boston for example. Way more racist towards black folk than any city in the south.

Hell black folk are having to hoax hate crimes lately. Jessie Smollet anyone? How about : Store video made public in Georgia lawmaker’s confrontation at Publix

White supremacist exist, but it's not a huge problem like people want you to believe otherwise there wouldn't be a need to hoax these crimes.
