Special Counsel Jack Smith Ask For All Charges Against President-elect To Be Dropped

Trump and his MAGA minions might be so arrogant and inept that they overestimate how competent they will be to deliberately destroy the government. I can't see them doing a job that will get high approval, and in four years it will be a cae eof how many crimes did this administration commit.

Many economists and investors are predicting a global recession and how funny is it that it will come with Trump as president? Trump has options of how to respond, but given his priority being his rich buddies I expect the middle class will be the suckers who lose quite a bit. We will see how much our MAGA members will be laughing and bragging then.

Given who he is filling his cabinet with, it's going to be a cluster**** and a ****show right out of the gate. When his supporters are negatively impacted, I suspect they'll wallow in denial, which at this point has already become their strong suit.

But then, you cannot deny that the promise of your nation is -- at least in that -- a false one.
Which promise?
And in many other ways, too, I think:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal..."
Except, of course, the one who isn't.
All Presidents are created equal.
"No man is above the law..."
Except one or two, you know, because...
There ya go!

That's the thing, you don't need to be competent to deliberately destroy a country when you are incompetent to save it.

I am not surprised
Presidents and other politicians get away with crimes
Good they did this
Seen from International POV it looks quite foolish to have a president who needs to be jailed, according their own laws, but who is not. Not just one criminal act, but more than a dozen (88 charges I've read, for real?)

Obviously they do it before the inauguration
Yes, being a "nation of laws," it's always good if your favourites can get away with anything.
You missed my point I think; I've explained above
It is to laugh.
We seem to agree here, in case needed, I better elaborate "Indeed, American election is to laugh"

Trump and his band of MAGAs will do a lot of unitentional damage and a lot of deliberate sabotage. They will butt up against the infrastructure of government and the law, and it remains to be seen how much they can get away with. If they succeed in dismantling government that is crucial to the funtioning of the USA there will be fallout. If they cut too much money from budgets so the wealthy can get tax cuts there will be fallout. I don't think we can underestimate the harm Trump will do to his own voters. They might be poorly informed, and easily duped, but if they suffer finiancially they will turn on him as fast as voters turned on Biden/Harris. The midterms are two years away, and if congress goes back to democrats Trump will be alone. States and courts will have authority, too.

The USA survived the Civil War, and I think we will survive another round of the inept Trump and his extremists. The good thing is that they are too extreme, and whatever they do it will leave a dent on society and citizens will feel it. Trump has no skill at managing. Stephen Miller is too much an extremist to moderate his plan. The midterm voter is watching.

Trump has had numerous convictions and is clearly morally bankrupt as are all those who continue to defend him no matter what he says or does. This is all too reminiscent of the NAZI rise to power just prior to WWII.
I can see a scenario where the blue states that are organizing to stand up to the new administration will follow their own laws and Trump wanting to roll over "state's rights" to impose far right agendas. The courts will inevitably get involved, and as we know courts take a lot of time. Look how sucessful the Confederate States were to organize and stand up against the federal government (albeit for criminal reasons, much like the MAGAs today). The scenario is twisted with the federal government advocating for criminal actions and independent states standing up for rights and democracy.
