Spending money to save at risk people might not be profitable!

The fundamental problem is whether we are going to tank the entire economy to save 2.5% of the population which is (1) generally expensive to maintain, and (2) not productive.

I look forward to this becoming the parroted talking point among the rest of the party faithful that claim they're Right To Life.

There were some interesting comments in response to that tweet, some of which brought up conservative complaints about "death panels" regarding Obamacare, but now the shoe is on the other foot.

I invite everyone to use this thread to post examples of the rest of the tribal right throwing millions of people under the bus because they aren't considered desirable. Then bookmark and link any time any of them ever makes any breathless comparisons between anyone and Hitler.

The Republicans want to get rid of the "undesirables" !

"Another consequence of Hitler’s ruthless dictatorship in the 1930s was the arrest of political opponents and trade unionists and others whom the Nazis labeled “undesirables” and “enemies of the state.” Some 5,000 to 15,000 homosexuals, liberal Democrats, were imprisoned in concentration camps; under the 1935 Nazi-revised criminal code, the mere denunciation of a man as “homosexual” could result in arrest, trial, and conviction. If you think about it, the slowing of the spread is really only to prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed all at once... While hoping for a vaccination in the meantime.

...But ultimately, the 2.5% will likely be 2.5% regardless of the slowing of the spread. Just saying.

This is what I thought the Republicans were thinking. You have confirmed my suspicions.

The primacy of the economy is not specifically a right wing trait. The banks, stocks and national debt have never been at the top of my priority list.

You're going to see a lot of republican "socialism" in this stimulus bill. Don't expect RW media to mention that word a single time given the bill.
I'm hearing RW media actually starting to support corporate bailouts over the middle class. But that's expected. The audience will be psychologically massaged to accept that giving corporations the most will benefit them the most. Works every time.

Conservatives: "President Trump's tax bill was amazing for the middle class!" "Greatest ever!"

Who is this guy? You think one opinion represents the view of tens of millions?

Italy, according to one of their virologist MD's will no longer allow anyone infected over 60 to go onto breathing support equipment.

Do you suggest those there making these decisions are following some nefarious rule of the American Republican party?

So called "corporate" bailouts, like Obama and Bush provided, provides jobs, or jobs when workers return. Specific limitations are provided so they cannot use the money for other purposes. Further, small businesses will receive relief so they can survive.

The Democrats have blocked the bill three times, because tax credits for wind solar isn't extended, and auto emission standards aren't tightened.

Yep, they are really tuned in to helping the economy so the middle class and all others will be helped.

Block immediate relief in a crisis for those tax credits, idiots.

In this mess we all have the opportunity to show some responsibility and respect toward one another, and all it takes is sacrificing normalcy for a while and tightening up ship. Anyone talking this sort of sacrifice up as something dire and problematic is simply downright irresponsible. They are admitting they aren't up for the challenge, obviously, and they are too weak to do without their precious [insert convenience here]. Just show some damn restraint, respect and responsibility. Survive and allow others to do the same. Beyond that you're demanding people hand over their lives in order for you to keep your conveniences. Simple as that.
