Star Trek Quotes

Star Trek has been replaced by BattleStar.

A much more challenging series with a real plot that took on real issues.

Adama to Lebeon (a cylon): Software doesn't have feelings and a "soul" was not part of your programming. You may look human but you're still just a fracking toaster!

Leoben: I feel more than you can imagine. Like rage!

Grabs Adama by the throat and lifts him off his feet.

GREAT stuff!:)

I like some of the humorous quotes:

McCoy: Spock, you are the most cold-blooded man I have even known
Spock: Why, thank you, doctor.

Scotty: The best diplomat I know is a fully loaded phaser bank.

Worf (in Qpid)- Captain, I must protest, I am not a Merry Man (he was turned into Will Scarlet by Q).

Data to Dr. Soong in Brothers- Then it is all right for you to die, because I am here (I think that is the right wording).

Pff! Frack frack frack! BattleStar can never hope to replace Star Trek. What a ridiculous notion. :biglaugh:

It already has!

Larson has signed on to make the movie. But Moore will have nothing to do with it. I think they'll get Rhymer to both write and direct.

Maybe.

I completely disagree. But it doesn't matter.

Sure it does! I'm very curious as to why. I know some of my friends who are into Trek feel this way about the movie but that hardly makes us an authority so I'd love to hear what you think. Besides, that was why I included the "why?" in the OP. So we could discuss the quotes and what they mean to us rather than just have another boring list of Star Trek quotes. After all, there's dozens of them on the internet. ;)

"Change is the essential process of all existence." - Spock, "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"

"Even historians fail to learn from history. They repeat the same mistakes." - John Gill, "Patterns of Force"

Guitar's Cry

Disciple of Pan
"Speak softly; those who will not listen to an angry shout may strain to hear a whisper."

This was from The Next Generation, and I think it was the one where Crusher fell in love with an ambassador that was a parasite within a consenting host.

Well, for one thing, I'm an atheist, too. ;)

But largely because I was a little kid when The Final Frontier came out, and had no idea Gene Rodenberry was an atheist. Or for that matter, what an atheist was. :p

Ah, so you were able to go into it with an open mind. When I saw it my friends and I had been playing armchair psychoanalyst with Star Trek for many years. I had no problem with the message, I was an agnostic at the time, it just didn't surprise me. So while it was enjoyable and entertaining, it wasn't magical. But then again, they can't all be The Wrath of Kahn. :D

Ambassader: "Captain Kirk, I insist you start taking this situation seriously"!

Kirk: "I'm taking the situation seriously, Ambassader. It's you I'm having a hard time taking seriously".

Kirk: "I NEED MY PAIN"!!!

apparently co-depedence hasn't been cured by the 25th Century.

Yeah. For a lousy movie, Final Frontier did have some great quotes:

"But life is not a dream" -Spock

Any marriage where the female is allowed to speak and to wear clothes is doomed to failure. ~ Quark

I loved the Ferengi. They seemed to be physical representations of captitalism viewed through Roddenberry's eyes.
