States Election System Possible Problem Due To Hacking

I am aways amazed at the primitive state of U.S. election technology. In my country, we have had for as long as I can remember state of the art high-tech marking cylinders that are able to emit a thin film of graphite onto a sheet of paper. 100% immune to hacking. (although sometimes they have teeth marks.)

Australian's have just had a national census - compulsory data gathering done by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

This was our first electronic census.
It was a debacle.

The ABS site crashed within an hour. The reason given was a DDoS ( a denial of service attack ).

So you use pen and ink on paper ballots?
And how many voters do you have in your country and by what means are the votes counted.
Some states used punch ballots and some of the electorate were to stupid to use them.
We also have people too stupid to use any means of voting
We also have many people too stupid to vote for the right person. See results of 2008 and 2012 presidential election for conformation:D

No, we are not quite that advanced, we don't use pens, we use pencils. And the votes are counted by counting them. And there are 35 million people here.

Is there anyone who doesn't believe electronic elections are hacked?

I'm sure it's been going on since the beginning. Look what happened with Bush/Gore.

The FBI issued a warning to states that their election systems are in danger of being hacked

Now I do not know if electronic voting machines are subject to "hacking" but if they are would could happen? An interesting article here: Now I'm not saying it is possible but.........
