Or maybe not, I find it unfortunate that the famed British "stiff upper lip" has now become the "quivering liver", it's Isandlwana all over again! Certainly you have lived through much worse and came out fine, you are probably more at risk of being stabbed anyway.

Politics have little to do with this, had Hillary won I would be saying the same. Disease and death have always taken Kings and paupers alike, nature has it's way of correcting the balance.
Says you.
Best to keep your insults to yourself, listen to the government news reports, and do what you are told.

If you only listened you would know that our countries are all going to go through the same as Italy.

And if the untrue things risk many people's lives, I think it's perfectly reasonable to consider that incompetence.
Or....does it prevent panic, allowing people to calmly figure out what to do?
It would be perfectly reasonable to consider that competence.

At some point it has to do more with Trump's incompetence in governing than it does with Trump hating. Trump is just not a very effective leader. How many walls have been built? Is the swamp drained? He's all hat no cattle.
A minor quibble....
There was only one wall to be built in the first place.

Or....does it prevent panic, allowing people to calmly figure out what to do?
It would be perfectly reasonable to consider that competence.

Inconsistent and often downright false messages, indecisiveness and inaction, passing the buck and political grandstanding are not what I would consider competent leadership in a major crisis.

10 days ago we knew what we needed to do: take very strong actions to reduce the spread, in these circumstances making an inane flu analogy is dangerously misleading.

In which case say: "This is very serious and unprecedented in recent times, but here is what you can do to lower the risks for yourself and others...", rather than: "Don't worry about it, carry on as normal" which is exactly what you don't want people to do. Especially when you have consistently downplayed it for political, rather than public health reasons leading to many people taking it less seriously than they otherwise would have.

Anyway, it is much better that people overreact than underreact, as one of these is much more likely to end in the deaths of many, many people. A dead person who didn't panic is still dead.

I'd expect some indecision, waffling, & calming untruths, & even over-reaction
to an unprecedented (in our lifetimes) disease outbreak. I"m not saying that
he handled it competently (although I saw room for improvement), but those
accusing him of incompetence haven't made a good non-partisan case.

Spit in your hand, then you will be holding the equivalent value of your opinion, or mine.

You have to cite incompetence, you can't say it, and it is, because you wish it so.

Ahh, all those ignorant tweets and groping women (but give him his due, he seems to have stopped that recently)

Edit

"I ignore his pompous and egocentric verbiage,"

But that's Trump
Yep, that's him.Policies and results are what really matters.

No, they have not. Every country in Europe, and China have incompetent leaders, if you look at their responses, and deaths, if judged by this new Trump standard.

When it dies down, lets tally up the scores, and see who wins..

What he say is very important as it influences people's behaviour and that has a very significant effect.

It's not the same as standard politics as usual where you can make that case that actions matter and words don't, and it's just party political salesmanship. Also when his actions (or lack of them) matched his words, there isn't a great case to be made in his defence.
You did not use the American spelling for "defense", Am I to assume from that that you aren't an American?

Can you actually supply facts related to your post? Or, are our allegations based in something other than facts, as I suspect?

I don't have cite anything but I will. Trump's a buffoon and ignoramus for not listening to the experts sooner! I get it you are a Trump boot licker. There's nothing I'm going to say or quote to you that will change your mind. Face it, you are a sycophant.

It has nothing to do with being partisan. Are you of the opinion that encouraging people to take the threat less seriously and carry on as normal when a deadly pandemic has already started doesn't threaten people's lives?

Americans are so obsessed with their partisan identities that they seem to think that everyone must also be obsessed with them.

See previous post: Stop all fake news! Trump is a great President!

Do you believe the best response to an ongoing pandemic with the potential to kill millions of people is to tell them to carry on as normal because people die of flu every year?

Since the outbreak of 2019-nCoV spread in the United States, some media like CNN has published a number of news attacking Trump’s efforts to contain the outbreak of virus. These news has caused unnecessary panic in America. And now, these reports gave China the perfect opportunity to attack the United States.
As we know, CNN has completely ignored the efforts of President Trump to contain the outbreak of virus. In recent days, they have reported extensively on various message from the CDC attacking the government for doing nothing. But now, these large-scale reports have caught China’s attention. On March 12, the spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry posted 5 messages on Twitter, he suspected the U.S military brought the virus to Wuhan. Now they have a lot of evidence, CNN helped them!

T-rump deflects and evades, much as you do. Imagine the yellow and orange imbecile's legacy: belligerence.

Phrased that way, I'd say that's wrong.

Based upon the expanding knowledge of the disease, his comments are appropriate. I note that you omitted the China travel ban, that when implemented folks like you said he was over reacting and being xenophobic. That action significantly reduced infections and deaths, Why did you leave that out?

You like to keep score? Compare our score to any European country, and remember, we have 320 million people.

Viruses in general tend disappear in warmer weather, that is why colds and flu exist primarily in winter. So, unless this virus is super radically different from others, one could say that the warmer weather will slow it down, or eliminate it.

Bootlickers, is a dumb moron phrase, I see you now more clearly.

I will be fine either way.

When crises like this happen you need to dump your petty politics and get behind a leader's government which is trying to organise an effective response to a very nasty sickness. There may soon be emergency legislation to make you do what you're told.

You have no clue whether you'll be fine or not.
You accuse others of excessive fear, but you'd soon be visiting the toilet hurriedly if this came anywhere near you, is my guess.
