I'm sure you can come up with a more convincing lie than that. I'm not one to put myself in a dangereous situation, especially if I'm wearing high heels. (Wearing those are dangerous enough.)

It always seemed odd to me to take pride in something you haven't actually accomplished. Sexual orientation isn't an achievement,

As others have noted, pride is an euphemism for rejecting shaming by others.

I have aspergers as well. And have always been a social pariah because of it. People pretend like they care but they don't. They just patronize. I know this struggle very well. Along with rage, depression, suicidal thoughts from being physically/mentally/and sexually abused

With all due respect, how would you feel about a Mental Health Pride Parade celebrating not having these issues? Would you see that as an affirmation of you or in some other way?

It is about unity. Why else would a Straight Pride parade invite a gay man to be its Marshall?

This is not to mock your illness, but to demonstrate to you how a Straight Pride parade featuring a gay marshal might appear to the LGBTQ+ community.
