Strange habits...

When someone says 'meerkat,' I say 'yay.' Long story.

One of my players has this little purple pokemon that he faces towards anyone he wants to role poorly (usually me), and it drives me crazy.

Well, you can pick mine too if you like, I hate having to do it.............:D

Me ? I am full of strange habits. Most of them are like the typical OCD rituals.
The oddest one though (and this goes back to my Banking days) is an obsession to 'maximise performance' as I see it. I was so busy at work that I would rush about the office, making 'the most' of any journey.

That translates into my private life in that everything I do has to be premesitately worked out so as to be the most efficient way of doing things. Hard to describe, but maybe one example is that I would never go upstairs to put something away there, without knowing that I need something from there. (and for those of you who remember the 'going to the bathroom thread, that explains my actions there:p )

Similarly, I get into dreadful trouble from my wife and sons for going up the stairs with a bunch of objects that I ought to take over two trips; it is all about 'making the most of every bit of work'.

Having seen that, I realize that there are many associated with words; the most annoying one is that I can't take a tea bag out of a jar without saying "Jw Norman Seebag & Co"......who were a branch of stockbrokers I used when in the bank for the banks customer's sharedealings.

I am extremely superstitious when it comes to sporting events. Before I play, or root for my favorite team, and during the game, I must keep myself completely symetrical. By that, I mean if I scratch my right side of my face with my left hand, I must scratch the left side of my face with my right hand at the same relative spot, with the same pressure etc......

To make it easier for me, anymore, I just wear a straight jacket to watch games.

Well I enjoy picking my guitar.

Me too! Makes for dirty strings.

I make my wife wash her hands before she plays.

Ewww. I had to scroll real fast past all the nose picking confessionals. I don't want to hurl my Grape Nut Flakes!

I am going to have to ask my hubby what annoying habits I have because I am finding myself close to perfect this morning in my own mind. :D But, I am certain he will have a trait or two to remind me of.

I do know that I can laugh really loudly sometimes....it comes all the way from the bottom of my feet. Guess that could be annoying, especially when you're around people who are the stoic sort. I have recollections of laughing like an idiot and looking around to see who else is laughing and I'm all alone in my idiocy. :( Makes one feel a tad looney!

I have this parinoia that if I really want something that I have to do it perfectly and I only get one chance to do it. I've tried real hard to break this fear to no avail.

Ever read the book 'Strange Highways' By Dean Koontz?

I have a tendency to bite and chew on my lips. I'll do so to the point that they start to peel a bit and when that happens I have to pull the little peice of skin off.

I do that, too. Also, I do the same thing with my fingers. When the skin starts to peel down by the fingernail, I chew on it and then keep chewing the peeling skin off. I'll chew sections of skin off all the way to the first knuckle of the finger.

I'm a bit OCD. When there are a bunch of coins together I have to stack them up not according to what type they are but the actual size of the coin (From largest to smallest). Also when I was in school if the teacher did not entirely erase the blackboard I would stand up and erase the part he/she missed.

I allways uncharge electricity when i get out of the car, by touching the door. Like Sang'Ha.

I change my pillow postions about 100 (5 or 6) times when i go to bed. They end up the same way, but i get the feeling i placed them that way,... again.

I tend to open/close doors like if i was doing a chi-gong dance, or closing a drawer with a slow kung-fu block, or pick up my son's do-do with a sweeping kick. And when i pass by the house pillar, *BAM* i give it a one-inch puch, for no reason, just because it's there. It drives my wife crazy (hum... a bit)

Some Kind of Strange
Umm...I have some weird things, but I'm not so sure they are considered habits. Like, doors have to be either all the way open or all the way closed. Chairs must be pushed in if no one is sitting in them. The toilet lid must be down at all times unless you are using the bathroom. Stuff like that.
