Why would it be inappropriate? Yes, a death is a tragedy, but it's not like it's "just someone's uncle" who died. Politically, this could have huge implications. If it's inappropriate now, then by what measures and standards do we determine when it is appropriate?We can't help thinking about what impact this will have on society, eventhough we all believe that is inappropriate for this moment. And that in and of itself is a testimony to the position he earned.

Sounds like there's some fowl play involved with his death.
I did not realize he was quite that old. Was thinking he was only in his sixties.
(To those talking about the next Supreme Court justice, the process will probably be stonewalled until the next president is elected.)
A year is a long time to drag it out though. It usually only takes a few months.And lots of skullduggery rushed through the courts in the meantime.

Maybe we should wait until after the burial and the eulogies before turning his death into political fodder.
