Supreme Court unanimous in backing Christian right too

The Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the city of Boston violated the free speech rights of a Christian group by refusing to fly a flag bearing the image of a cross at City Hall as part of a programme that let private groups use the flagpole while holding events in the plaza below.

Good. Hope the same is true with a flag of Satan/symbol of Satan as in regards to the Supreme Court.

Yeah, this was an exceptionally clear violation of the First Amendment.
Boston freely allowed any private group that held an event there to fly flags on the public flag pole during their events... except for this group's Christian flag.

I am glad the supreme court had a unanimous decision on this. I wonder if they will discontinue the policy.

From what I have seen- and there are exceptions- but for the most part... when Christians display their symbols in public it is out of genuine love and respect for Christianity and their Lord, for the culture and traditions of the community, and to honor dead loved ones and ancestors so that some of what they were will live on through them.

I completely approve of this, as well as other non-Christians displaying their spiritual/ religious symbols for similar reasons, as these behaviors transcend any one religion. However- and this goes for people of any religion- if the entire point of displaying these symbols is to simply troll and cry and complain- as the so-called “satanic” temple does- it just comes off as sad and pathetic.

And a correct decision, too. If that pole is dedicated to the use of groups holding permitted events, then Christians should be treated in exactly the same way. If you can run up the rainbow flag on Pride Day, then running up a flag with a cross on it during a Christian event should be treated no differently.

Well, there are actual Satanists. So those are the ones relevant.

Oh, I rather doubt that. Although I do believe that the Chief Justice does worry about the image of the Court becoming, or at least perceived, as a political tool of a political party.
