Herbal tea is allowed?
What else is not allowed?
The "big four" prohibitions in the Word of Wisdom (as our health code is called) are coffee, tea, alcohol and tobacco. Harmful drugs are considered a no-brainer, because the whole point is to avoid addiction and treat your body as the temple of God (i.e. the Word of Wisdom also says notthing about jumping off the overpass onto the freeway.) Most LDS also avoid caffeinated soft drinks.
The flip side of this is the part you don't hear as much about, but its supposed to be equally as important: lots of grains and fruits, not a whole lot of meat, and otherwise taking good care of the only body you're going to get.

I'm confused :bonk: how can tea be anything but herbal. And how can herbal tea not be tea (since you voted no for tea)
I agree it's a little odd, but in most supermarkets, you'll see a distinction between "tea" and "herbal tea" on the packaging. "Herbal tea" is tea made from something other than tea leaves, so it generally refers to anything but green or black tea.
Herbal tea is tea, but I voted for "no tea" because there was no option for "herbal only." I don't drink enough herbal tea to have it count for a vote, in my opinion; it's probably less than a cup a year! Also, I'm aware that many people on the forums are familiar with the Word of Wisdom. Voting for tea would have led to a lot of confusion!
