"Tea Party wants slavery removed from student textbooks."

That article did seem rather opinionated, and I would rather read something a little more concrete, but it doesn't surprise me that the Tea Party wants to do this, and elevate the false "saintly" image of the Founding Fathers to "Super Saints." Now while alot of false accusations exist, such as people ignoring that many of the Founding Fathers did free there slaves, and Franklin started one of the first anti-slavery movements in the New World, and it was the consensus to let slavery die out on it's own so the South would ratify, to ignore slavery as a whole is to ignore one of the biggest divisive issues of the Continental Congress, the sacrifices of Abraham Lincoln, several pieces of important legislation, such as the Missouri Compromise, and our history in general which is never a good thing.
Too bad we didn't get a separation of education and state along with church and state.

I agree with you.

The GOP claims to love Strict constructionism.
Do they? I wonder what percentage would actually claim it.

They are more then willing to change things when it is to there liking (I.E. Bush v Gore) The Dems at least are honest about their views on the constitution. I agree with the Dems change is a good thing.
The Constitutional record of both parties is terrible, I see much dishonesty on both sides.
"Change" is a neutral thingie in general. I wouldn't pursue it just because it for its own sake.
Besides, the Constitution spells out processes for legally amending it....I favor those, lest
such great power be vested in the hands of the frenzied few.

44 - Tea party leader expelled over slavery letter

I've been waiting for a more well know publication to look at this issue.

As an Afro/Franco/Cherokeeo American let me just say...

What in the hell man? It's 2011 and we're still talking about this race crap?

ok ... to cliche'...

So, how about those Packers huh?

Red Foxx once told a joke about a school bus driver during the Rosa Parks event. The kids got to argueing every day "I'm White I'm Black I'm Front I'm Back" so he stopped the bus one day and told all the kids to get off the bus. When all the kids were off the bus the bus driver says "OK I've had it with the whole White/Black/front/back thing.... I want all you kids to repeat after me... say, 'I'm Green!"

So all the kids yelled "I'm Green!"

To wit the bus driver said "Now get back on the bus, lite green to the front dark green to the rear."

This doesn't surprise me at all. The Tea Party wants to do much more then that. They want to use guns to take out the Democrats.

Obama threatened them first in 2008...you know....his unfortunate bringing-a-gun-to-a-knife-fight-remark.
(I can make simplistic over-generalizations with the best of'm.)
