Tell me your doubt/why you do not believe Christianity

I was a Christian, but now since I am atheist, I doubt all gods, but heck, there might be deities. No one knows.

Well first I will tell you the most important things in christianity

Human problem : we are all sinned. All sinners shall be banished!

God's solution : He gave His child to crusified to paid all over our sin. So everyone who believe on Jesus will be saved, not banished, and have eternal life

After life : live with God forever

there is no good evidence that the Christian god exists any more than the thousands of others.

There's no such thing as sin and I didn't ask or want anyone to die for me. Christian theology just makes no sense and doesn't match with what is known about the world. Jesus was just crucified by the Romans because he was viewed as stirring up rebellion. The end.

It does make me wonder how so many Christians can support neo and classic Liberal economic policy when they themselves required someone be brutally tortured and executed in their place. So much for personal accountability. And why is such an extreme measure necessary anyways. If god can do anything, this whole Passion thing was needless and unnecessary. Someone else doing your atonement is about as much of a lack of personal responsibility as it gets. But it makes sense 2000 years ago when people accepted they did nothing but being born to earn and deserve their lot in life that they'll die with and never change. It was nothing you did, so it makes way more sense when your eternal salvation is also not something you did other than just having been born as someone else made those decisions and took action. Just like someone else, another person who tended to go by king.

It's just the simple matter where belief just doesn't match up with the reality.

Additionally, there is really nothing truly special or unique Christianity offers, or has to show compared with any other religion out there that would make it stand out which would garner any special attention.

Why I doubt christianity? Why, on Earth, christianity says that all other religions are fakes?????

I don't believe in any religion, because of the very nature of what religion is about. It is about believing certain propositions on faith. It considers having such faith a "virtue". I don't. I consider having such faith being the equivalent of gullibility. My reasoning processes, my critical thinking simply do not allow me to believe anything based on mere faith. My brain simply doesn't work that way.

Having said that, considering the claims of christianity in particular, especially the way you laid it out in your OP.... I think that, straight out the gates, it is an obvious example of snake oil salesmen tactics.

First, it declares that there is something wrong with you by default (humans = sinners). It doesn't demonstrate this. It just declares it so.

Second, it conveniently offers the only "cure".

To top it all of, BOTH these claims, must be believed "on faith".

Those facts alone, already make all my alarm bells go off and seem sufficient to discard it as obvious nonsense.

To top it all off, in the story, the most powerfull, most intelligent, most just, most benevolent being of the universe (who is ultimately responsible for the mess of supposed human original sin in the first place), can't find a better way to "forgive us" from being faulty from birth (something that is not under our control, according to the lore) then by taking his own son, who's somehow also himself, and have him sacrificed to... himself, so that he can "save" us from.... himself.

Apparantly we need "forgiveness" for things that we can't help (that's akin to needing forgiveness for being black....)

Apparantly punishing a scapegoat for the crime of others is "just"

...

It's mega obvious nonsense, from beginning to end.

Well.... all that + the fact that even if it would actually make sense - there's still not one iote of verifiable valid evidence for any of it.

Well let me ask again how could you explain the happened of this so tidy and measured up universe without God?

An argument from ignorance in the making.

If the answer to your question is "I don't know" -that doesn't make your god claims any more correct, any more probable or any more plausible.

The concept of scapegoat is very old.. and IMO rather pagan.

Azazel
and the “Scapegoat” (Leviticus 16) Azazel’s nonsacrificial "tote" goat (NIV translates "scapegoat") served as a ritual "garbage truck" to purge the Israelite community of moral faults through a process of transfer and disposal. 11 Other ancient Near Eastern rituals included transfer and disposal.

I do not believe in that sort of Christianity because of the centuries of abuse such language has fostered. It tells us that the creator made us poorly and that only the creator can salvage us. That is a lowly God... but perhaps those who accept such a God are also lowly?

I prefer a God who tried to do something but needs us to try the rest of the way to make it possible. That God is worthy of trust, needs us like we need it, and is invested, although weakly, in our success. This God would be the God of everyone's practical experience and not some weak failure that we have to live with.

OP...why don't you believe in Islam? Same God of the old testament.

A lot of people don't realize that the God of the Old Testament is the same exact God that the Jews, Christians and Muslims worship. Yet all 3 translations of that God cannot be different...huh.

Religion is regional. Religion is all man-made.

If you were in Japan you would be a Buddhist. In Utah you would be a Mormon and believe Jesus lived on a planet called Kolob and wear magic underwear. If in Haiti you would practice voodoo. If in Arabia you would be bowing down to Allah and be putting homosexuals to death. If an Episcopal you would be making homosexuals your bishop.

Humans are predisposed to create gods. Here is a list...thousands of gods...pick one, and worship it. But don't start killing people in the name of your god.
