Terrorists fully occupy Eastern Aleppo

If I see an Islamist group and think that it'll do the same, then I condemn it in similar terms. If there are Islamist groups which are willing to compromise on criminalising homosexuality then they're worth talking about for the sake of ending a war. In other circumstances, they wouldn't be worth talking to, by dint of being Islamists.

The problem with your premise is that it rests on a very flimsy basis. If Islamists are willing to tolerate homosexuality, and if they're willing enough to go against Islamic orthodoxy to do it... that's a mighty big pair of 'if's.

If Islamists are determined enough to enact Sharia law then they'll be determined enough to enforce it - including the parts where it says homosexuality is a sin. How many interpretations of Sharia law have ever tolerated homosexuality? Or for that matter how many countries or groups espousing Sharia law have ever tolerated homosexuality?

I'm not saying I want countries governed by Islamists. I'm saying that including moderate Islamists within dialogue is often worth doing for the sake of peace. For example, groups ideologically akin to Algeria's National Rally for Democracy or Indonesia's National Mandate Party. We can deal with these people if we have to, they are willing to talk. Again, for the sake of peace.

Realistically of course, neither secularists nor Islamists are going to be particularly keen on allowing homosexuality in the Arab world for the most part, but I totally say yes it's a big if, but I rest on it nevertheless.

Kiran, the mujahideen will never tolerate filthyness called homosexuality and neither will they abandon the shariah

Then I suppose it's a good thing Assad is winning the civil war, from my perspective.

I think everybody who has such vitriolic feelings against homophobia is repressing their own urges, to be honest, so I only hope you can find peace one day.
