In great part I would define him through his relationship with the people of Israel, which is a central theme in the Bible (the Hebrew Bible). Realizing that the God of Abraham emerged from a Levantine Israelite and Judaic culture, and not from Christendom or Islam which discuss episodes centuries after the Biblical narratives and the Hebrew prophets. What in your belief, defines the Abrahamic God?
Is he one of creation, destruction...or both? How does this God unify the three tribes of Abraham?

Caladan expressed it quite well, I think.
But I might also want to say that God (I don't conceive of there being an "Abrahamic God," as though there were other gods out there. There is one God, and every religion-- Abrahamic or otherwise-- has very different understandings of Him, sometimes even mistaking the One God for many gods) is the epitome of paradox. He is simultaneously utterly transcendant and completely immanent, both knowable and unknowable, who gives us the inspiration for wise teachings, and yet ultimately remains incomprehensible to us.
God is the Creator of all things, and as such, He has made a universe that includes chaos, entropy, evolution, and other modalities of life that include destruction as elements of creation.

Volcanic lava has been, to some tribes and worshipers, the blood of the Earth. Fire of any sort has always been a bringer of death and rebirth, as seen on the islands of Hawaii. For this reason it has entranced many religions in it's land rejuvenating properties. Gods of many religions were thought to reside upon the mountain tops or on volcanoes, offering their benefits and punishments on their peoples.
