The Age of Consent: Culture-Dependent or Universally Objective?

Probably no one reading this would ever had been born, if at least some of their forebears had not married or had sexual relations as young as 12 or 13.
Historically the age of consent has largely been determined by the advent of puberty, though even that was "Optional".
Today these things are largely controlled by increasingly complex laws. Un-fortunately this seems to have made little difference to sexual predators.
The actual age to have sex or bear children has become separated from normal biological ability. There is no universal age of consent and probably never will be.
It is up to the individuals involved to obey the local laws.

The same could probably be said about spousal rape.

... or battlefield rape. There are parts of Eastern Europe where, based on their Y chromosomes, ~5% of men are male-line descendants of Genghis Khan.
