The aim of men circumcision

Question: What is the aim of circumcision of men in Islam?
The aim of circumcision of man in Islam firstly is to distinguish between Muslim man and others; this is an important sign to know someone’s religion after his death. If he is circumcised, then he is a Muslim so Muslims carry out washing him, shrouding him, perform prayers upon him and burying him in Muslims’ graves. Circumcision preserves his rights as a Muslim after his death; this happens mostly during accidents and wars so they know the religion by circumcision.
Secondly, the prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said that the description of the people of paradise where we all hope to go, is that they are circumcised, so circumcision is a glad tiding that a Muslim will go to paradise.
Thirdly, modern medicine also mentioned the medical benefits for circumcision for men; they said that viruses, microbes and germs collect around the foreskin which is cut and this lead to infection and diseases like cancer, so some European countries tend to men circumcision lately after realizing the medical benefits.

If circumcision is the means to tell a Muslim from a non-Muslim, how do you deal with the possibility of a circumcised non-Muslim? Does such a thing not exist, or does circumcision make one a Muslim by default?

Non-circumcision is not unhygienic in any sense simply if one takes care of oneself. Also, not just Muslims have it done. I think it is a barbaric practice, which has no real benefits. Most European men are not circumcised and have no problems at all. It wasn't just Jews and Muslims who did it either; ancient Egyptians had the practice, various African tribes did it and still do. Personally, I think a boy-child should be given a right to choose whether he wants his foreskin removed, not do it at birth when he cannot say anything.

Why did Allah create foreskins if he wants them removed anyway?

Aye. From what I read, the health benefits accrue only to males in 3rd world countries with hygiene & health problems. So male genital mutilation is somewhat justifiable there, but certainly not in modern civilized countries.

But uhm Jews have been doing circumcision far longer than Muslims.
So he could actually be a Jew.

The Prophet said "If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." (Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 54, Number 537)

I can see the value of this reason dropping drastically in lieu of the fact that Jewish males are also cicrumcised as well as many other non-Jews/Muslims.

Most Americans are circumcised, all Jews are circumcised and many people of other faiths worldwide are circumcised.
Looks like the Prophet did not know much then nor about now.
