One impression I get quite strongly is that Kirk is an incredibly stupid person. I can't begin to imagine how he managed to get so much media exposure.

Stupidity is incredibly widespread for starters, so naturaly his nonsese rsonates with other people´s nonsense.

Again, these videos are quite old (including the crocduck). I'm not saying he doesn't still believe that way, but he has moved away from it to a point. The last interview I saw of his was concerning the end times and rapture idea in Christianity. He wasn't some nut bag in that case and was quite level headed.

Also, not believing in evolution doesn't make one dumb. It makes them uninformed.

I just don't see the need in making fun of a person based on one idea that he holds true. That is probably one reason why the idea of evolution has hit so many road blocks. When some argues against it they are overly ridiculed and the issue is hardly approached in an educational manner.

I'm actually thinking of his TV show where he accosted random strangers and tried to badger them into agreeing they were sinners and had to get right with god. The entire argument was basically "Here is twenty bucks. Have you ever felt sexual desire? Then you're a sinner!!!!"

That is not the argument of an intelligent man.

Exactly. But Kirk has not, and he has no excuse. I think sometimes debate can be quite informative and educational, when done right. But I understand your point that it often just causes people to dig in their heels. But I don’t think that is a valid excuse.




Btw I assume you meant Ray Comfort. Even Ray Charles could see the evidence for evolution.

Yet another point, (surprised noone has pointed this one out yet), is that the banana he has, is a sterile clone of a man-made hybrid of two wild bananas. The wild bananas don't fit the hand anywhere near as well.

Watch Kirk Cameron and Friends demonstrate the perfectly designed shape of the banana for easy gripping and entry into your mouth (in this guy's Australian accent, it sounds like "bananer"). To me, this demonstration is hilarious but it does take on a nightmarish quality ....

This guy is bananas. And you're right, there is a nightmarish atmosphere to this.

People actually think and believe this way.

He should have at least employed a monkey to help him demonstrate.
