The Bible doesn't make sense. Clue me in.

Whether you love God or not, is determined by what is your priorities in life. If you had a choice between a million dollars and World Peace, or even a trillion dollars and World Peace, which would choose?

I'll go with World Peace, although just saying it makes me feel like a Miss America contestant.

If you had a choice between saving your own life, or saving the lives of 10 people, which would you choose? That is love.

Almost certainly the 10 people. However, the caveat would be I'm not dying to save 10 psychotic baby-murderers.
To be honest, though, I don't see my answers as being indicative of a love of God.

Or, why didn't God use some magic to etch his rules on the psyche of every newborn so there would be no room for interpretational error?
That has already been done, some people automatically see through the lies and know the direction; unfortunately there are more tares, than wheat currently, so all you hear is the lies. ;)

You are aware the Bible is a test, of if people understand the difference between good and evil; there is no point people having an ability, and not using it to discern between. :innocent:

To get to "Hell", one is not sent to hell, you volunteer to go. God throws a lifeline even though He knows(all knowing) you will not take hold! God is Love. He created man to fellowship with Him, this is what He wants, Fellowship. Freewill, God gave you freewill. You choose.
So what lifeline has he thrown to those who never heard of his Biblical Escape Clause? Or those who have heard but remain unconvinced because the message was delivered by an incompetent messenger: an ineffective preacher?

OOPS!

I just realized the the post I've responded to here was made nine years ago, but I'll let it stand anyway. I think it's a good point.

Seems to me in this story of the tower that God felt threatened by having all men work together in on purpose.

Basically saying that working together man can accomplish anything. Kind of obvious this idea of God doesn't have man's best interests at heart.

So following the command of God for the sake of following the command of God is not necessarily for your benefit.

More then likely it's just some story ancient folk came up with, like a bedtime story they told their kids to explain why there are so many languages.

A lot of the OT is likely folk tales that got integrated into religious belief. Unknown sources so to give it authority it was written to imply it came from God.
