The Bible has proven itself through its teachings.

Whether the virgin drank from this fountain or that is irrelevant. Understanding the symbol the book represents, this goes for all religions/doctrines, is the key.

Your religion of the Baha faith surely teaches you the keys of all religions?

Not the keys, but yes the spiritual evolving relationship. Actually, this is misleading. The Baha'i Faith teaches the relative and evolving nature of religion in spiritual cycles of the human journey. Since the present Baha'i Faith itself is transitory in nature, it will also evolve and change to be replaced by another evolving Revelation.

Baha'i translates as a 'follower of light.' From the human perspective no one has the keys.

One example is the role of science from the Baha'i perspective. Science in and of itself represents a form of Revelation through the intellect of humanity. The Harmony of Science and Religion describes an evolving changing body of knowledge. ALL scripture past and present including the Baha'i writings must be understood in the light of science concerning the nature of our physical existence.

Anyone can twist the symbolism of the scriptures to be what they want. Archetypes can be found but also mistaken for something they are not. Without the guidance of the holy Spirit you can't understand the spiritual things from God properly. These things are hidden in mystery. It's true but only revealed by the Spirit of God.

That's because they come from the Spirit and so only He can explain His own thoughts. These thoughts are precious and hardly discernible for those whose hearts are not right.

So Jesus said that whoever hears the Word and doesn't understand it; is like when the seed falls on the foot path and the seed is trampled underfoot and the fowls of the air come and eat the seed before it can take root. So it doesn't profit anyone who hears it because they did not understand it and the adversary comes and take the seed from their heart.

The Word of God is always successful in whatever God sends it to do. It cannot fail. But it's like a key made for a specific lock. You can't put any key into any lock and expect it to open. So the Word of God is sent to specific types of human hearts that will receive it. Whatever heart is the "good ground hearer" receives the Word of God which is revelation from God.

The Spirit of God is like a dove hovering for a place to land. He will land if there is a place for Him. So people's hearts who are open to the Spirit of God will receive understanding, wisdom and revelation when the Spirit of God rests on them.

This was so beautiful! Thank you! I can't argue with anything you've just stated.

The proof comes from life itself.

The Bible is just a book written by people long ago and rewritten and redacted to what you hold in your hands today.

If the Bible was proven anything it's a testament of just how human nature imaginatively deals with interpretation when it comes to the direct reality that life and living brings.

Proof comes from life itself is a true statement in my view. But just like a book, people can get lost in the experience of life itself.
But can that proof be revisited through doctrine?
I wouldn't call the bible completely imaginary as I see its teachings as stepping stones on the road to Proof or Truth.
Sometimes a teaching in a book can wake a person up to the truth in real time experience. We often get lost in our daily rituals.

I think the Bible exemplifies the imaginative use of interpretation

Basically it's impossible to make any rule book or instructional manual, coming out of any religion for that matter, that encompasses the entire experience and state of being here. You could say the truth is "given" to us by default.

You really don't need nor require a book or manual when reality and truth already permeates adequately and fully as it is right now for all of us for which the books provide an attractive sense of pizzazz for lack of a better term. ;0)

Kind of makes one wonder, if not for religious doctrine, would we be still shooting bows and arrows.

Not sure it proves anything since much of it, including its foundational premises, is at odds with reality.

It proves you don't need things like plot structure, character development, consistent theme or continuity to make a best seller.

This reflects the questionable standards of fallible human nature as to what a best seller is. Some of the best books do not make the list.

Much like the pop music charts. Crowd appeal builds on itself as the sheep struggle to appear socially relevant to each other and commence 'enjoying' whatever is popular. Meanwhile, the shepherds sharpen their sheers on focus groups and tune the pied piper's flute to the lowest common denominator.

And yet, I still love ABBA.
